Trish, I was thinking of the more recent place you and your sister went where you got shots. I dont remember what it was called.

I know sometimes I have my meal planned and DH changes where we are going and my meal becomes much higher calorie and carb. That happened last week. There is a low calorie carb meal I order at Bob Evans but he decided yo go somewhere else. I just go along. There are 2 other grocery stores near us that have rotisserie chicken. We have never had Walmart. I love rotisserie chicken but I know they inject it with something that adds sodium.

Today my calories were 1100 but carbs were 80. I will probably never do 20. I know today was a blip but you will get back on plan quickly. You are doing well.

We are going to bed now. Goodnight. I hope I sleep.

Carol Sue You are thinking about when DS and I went to bariatrics to get shots. I figure they didn't work because they wanted us to have surgery, but I don't think my insurance would pay for it.

I really don't like rotisserie chicken from Walmart, because there is only original flavor. I would rather get it from the local store because I have choice of lemon, mesquite etc.

Going to bed soon. Goodnight.

Yes Trish, that is what I was thinking of. I would not want surgery. Most people I know gained the weight back. Our hospital had bariatric with several ways to lose weight. I heard that Medicare does not cover surgery.

We. Mostly get original rotisserie chicken but I will buy others if they are out.

I am on my way to 200 lbs. Something has to change!

Carol Sue I never wanted bariatric surgery. I could have gotten it in SC without any problem and DH asked me if I wanted to do it and I told him no because everybody I knew either gained all their weight plus more or had some sort of complications afterward.

I really expected to be in the 160s this morning after eating the KFC chicken and slaw, but was surprised to find that my weight was back down to 157.6. FBG was 113 and Ketones were 1,0. So all is well. I have a good keto plan for today and if I stay OP my calories will be 1006 and total carbs 24 g. I bought some frozen sausage to alternate with bacon for breakfast. It was nice for a change, but I have to say that I prefer bacon. I've pretty much eat 2 eggs, 2 sl bacon or 2 sausages and 1/2 avocado. Very low carb so very keto friendly. We will have pork loin steak today and I'm going to try some spring salad veggies with other veggies small enough to keep the carbs low and a small serving of cut okra. I will have a snack to round out the day to get over 1000 calories on MFP. I will have a snack of pork skins and Sour Cream Ranch Dip and a few ons of protein shake. This was a suggestion I saw Dr, Westman made especially if you miss your chocolate. DH seems to be burnout of cooking right now so I think I will take the other half of the beef roast I have in the freezer and cook it tomorrow so neither of us has to cook for a few days. Got to get my exercises done for today. I'm working toward doing 4 days a week instead of 5 since I now go to the store with DH once a week and count that as the part of the 5 days.

Have a great day everybody.

I Am at the casino much to my dismay. He insisted and i was afraid to say no.

i have resumed reading Diabetes Code. I need to get back in the fasting mode. That is my best tool. Dr Fung said Diabetes Code contains all the information from Obesity Code, plus more. I hope it does what i want.

I didnt take Lasix today and i might quit. It causes me too many problems, incontience and leg cramps. If i start to have breathing problems i will take it again.

___________________

I had to double c heck to be sure i was reading Diabetes Code. I dont remember any of the information i'm reading as something i've read before! I'm learning a lot! It explains a lot about how carbs turn to glucose which turns to body fat.

Not a bad casino day. I didn't play. DH called me to say he was ready to leave so I went out to his machine. He didn't win or lose, but still had all his money. He went back to the food court to get a hotdog and coffee for the ride home. While I was waiting I put $20 in a machine. I got a bonus and won $97. Then I went to another machine and put $5 in. I got 15 free games 3 times and cashed out for $77 on that machine. So $170 out for $25. Not bad! I was
happy. Earlier a man near DH won $10,000.

Carol Sue Sounds like you wait until everyone gives up on winning on their machines and you step up at just the right time to win. Good for you.

Guess my fried chicken caught up with me weight 159.2 this morning. I am going carnivore today. Not eating only meat but will keep carbs under 20 grams. Met a 77 yr old woman on a carnivore group and she isn't losing a lot of weight but has had some improvements in health and has only been doing carnivore since February. DH and I found a young guy telling people that IF along with chemo is having better successes than just chemo and he also stressed that you cannot cure cancer just fasting. That is pretty much what I have heard from many doctors. I see and hear of so much good healing that comes from eating carnivore soI look forward to this new journey. It also seems to help people do IF automatically.

DH wants me to start walking to the mailbox with him so I think I will start that next week. I walk one day at the grocery store so if I pick 2 days a week to walk to the mailbox with him that would be great. I know walking is very important exercises. Our mail is delivered to a box around the block from us, so it is quite a walk. Also walking is good for my bones.

I have a beef roast cooking fir dinner, I'm going to try to get back to 2MAD and hopefully do a 20:4 IF ratio. Since I am one who wants something to eat in the evening, I plan for my eating window to be between 3pm to 7pm. Fasting during chemo treatment is the best way to do this so I have between now to get into the habit of doing this so I'm ready when I go back to my chemo treatment sometime next month.

Have good day everybody.

Trish, usually when we are leaving the casino at 9 or 10 at night, people are just coming. Young people mostly. We always comment on that. I think the machines hit later rather than earlier. Its very unusual to get 2 good hits in 10 minutes time. I know I was lucky. I would like to go later at night but then we drive home later. We can't stay overnight because of Rusty! Maybe he could be my emotional support dog and could come with us.

Last night my feet were very puffy . I think from sitting in the car for an hour. I didn't take Lasix going to the casino and didn't want to take it at bedtime. So I took it at 6am and went back to sleep! Sometimes the swelling goes down during the night from having my feet elevated. But I forgot to weigh until after I ate and had coffee. 179, so down from the horrible 181 of yesterday. I have a new plan. 40 lbs by Thanksgiving. It will require daily determination to cut carbs. I won't go as low as 20. I can't do that . But maybe below 50 and 5-6 hour eating window. I do not eat after dinner mostly. Years ago I told myself I need food energy during the day when I'm active but not in the evening when I'm not. The difference was when I went out dancing in my 20s. I always slept better and lost better sleeping with an empty stomach. I know its different for many, especially my kids. They eat dinner after 7 pm. We are all different. DH always eats something before bed.

I plan on getting back to exercise on Monday or Tuesday. Monday is Wal-Mart and Goodwill day,so maybe Tuesday. I want to put this plan together for eating and exercise.

I looked back and first read this book in 2019. I think at that time I skimmed past a lot of the information and read what interested me at the time. I do not remember most of what I'm reading now. Like I never heard it before. Its explaining how the different hormones act in the body and the results. I think when I read it before I just wanted to know what to do to change it. For the most part, you can't change the action of your hormones. Fasting and exercise can have an effect. The most important thing I learned is when you lower your calorie intake your metabolism slows to make up for it. I've heard that before, and I've heard its false. But when I hear it from Dr Fung I tend to believe its true. The thing I don't understand is so how do you lose weight. When you fast, aren't you cutting calories? I have to find a way for it all to make sense. And what about anorexia? I know those people are risking their lives, but they lose weight. Are they considered to be fasting? The first time I dieted I knew nothing. I just ate less and exercised more. And I lost. After I lost, I started fasting to maintain. I would not tell anyone I was fasting because that was not healthy back then. I lived alone so no one really new. I did IF before anyone heard of it. Maybe I invented it! LOL LOL. All I cared about back then was being thin. I was obsessed. I want to be obsessed again!

We are invited to step sons on Sunday for a cook out. Her parents will probably be there, too. I know DH doesnt want to go but I do. I want to see my grandson.

Carol Sue On the Carnivore group I'm on someone asked what they were doing wrong because they were not losing. They were warned that if you don't eat enough you will not lose. They stress eating only when you are hungry not by the clock and to be sure to eat until satiety, You have a good plan. If I wasn't going to do Carnivore, I would do 50 grams and still might work at keeping them under 30 grams. DH thinks it should be decided by how I feel doing it because I may need the strength.

I heard from a 81 yr old woman who does martial arts classes and zumba. Being almost 81 myself, she has amazed me.

All exercises are done for this week. I did all the exercises that I used to do. I will try to add 2 days of walking with DH to the mailbox next week.

Trish, there used to be Zumba Gold classes near me and I was going to go but then Covid put an end to that. I have the DVDs but never tried them yet. I got them at Goodwill. Martial arts is a different story.

If you can do 20 grams of carb, good for you,but I agree with DH to see how you feel. You can always increase. Walking to the mailbox might be hard in this weather. You should have started in winter! Good luck. Is there anywhere you could go to walk inside in air condition? Even Wal-Mart if you go when its not busy.

I know I have a good plan but can I follow thru? It will take strict determination. I have not stuck to a plan for a long time. I guess it's mind over matter. If I really want it I will do it. Its hard with DHs food around. I have to be firm with my No Thank You! Last time I did well was when he broke his hip. 2018 I think. He could not go out to eat.

Today we went to Rodneys so I could get wings. DH got a burger. There is no other sit down restaurant where I can get wings around here.It has to be a place where DH can get. something else.

I ended up doing 32 total carbs and 22 net carbs. I don't know if I can do 20 total carbs. Dr. Bernstein used to let his patients do 30 grams but I don't remember if that was total or net carbs. Calories were around 1394. Will have to see how this goes. I will start out and try to keep them as low as possible.

Scale was 180 again today and I took Lasix yesterday. There might have been a lot of sodium in the wings. I cannot know the nutritional info for them. Its a guess. My carbs were 66. I always do total.

This is funny. Yesterday my calories burned was 1412. Calories eaten were 1415. So I ate 3 more calories than I burned. That's according to my Fitbit.
