Yay for new sports clothes!

I decided this morning I was going to get some proper gym clothes.  Nothing too fancy, just something that would make me at least feel fairly good about myself (besides the fact that I was going to the gym).  Before my shopping trip I had an old too-big (it was always too big;  I ordered it from a catalogue) too-long pair of gray and pink pants and some oversized mens’ Umbra shirts which pretty much made me feel frumpy.

So I went to Perry Sport and come to find out they are having a sale :)  I like sales, as does my wallet, since I’m pretty much watching the €€€’s at the moment.  I found a pair of Nike sport pants that actually fit as an XL (thought I’d need bigger) and two Perry shirts that I noticed were 70% off, but the actual price I wasn’t sure of.  Then we have the issue of the sportsbag.  Last week I had my regular messenger bag that I always carry, plus another messenger bag for my food containers.  Needless to say this was pretty annoying to schlep around these two bags.  So I wanted a bag to:

1) Fit my Gym stuff in
2) Fit my regular daily stuff in - wallet, a bit of makeup, portable DVD player
3) Fit my water bottle in
4) Fit all my food supplies in

I found a Nike bag that seemed it could really do the trick. There was also an Eastpak that I liked even better (I don’t like to walk around with all these labels all over me), it was just plain black and VERY sturdy. But it came down to the Nike bag, because of all the extra features/pockets.

I get to the cash desk and I find out::

The tops were originally €17 each. I got them for €6 each.
The pants were originally €42. I got them for €21
The bag wasn’t on sale, but from what I saved… it bought me the bag. I’m VERY pleased about this :)

R is going to take some photos of me in my new gear in a wee while. We are also going walking tomorrow. I did discuss with him how much I really needed his help and support and that I wanted us to also do something together that’s active and/or outdoors. I’m really really glad and relieved that he truly understands how important this is to me.

Here we go!

I love buying workout clothes! Although I usually buy mine second hand. Yours are so cute! And you look so happy in them. I love progress pictures, I can’t wait to see when you update them. What more could you ask for? Great sales and great workout clothes!

Thanks! I really thought I wouldn’t find anything in my size (believe me, as much as an optimist I can come off as, I’m really a pessimist when it comes to clothes shopping in this country!) so I was really pleased to find things that fit, albeit snugly in some places :)

I would love to buy second hand but that doesn’t exsist like it does in the States. That’s why I’m REALLY glad this stuff was on sale! I don’t have much money to be buying stuff like this, but it’s important that I don’t feel like a frump when I go to the gym (it’s silly, I know, but not having proper clothes to work out in makes me feel even worse than just being the fatty going to the gym).

It’s not silly at all! I know when I belonged to a gym, I would feel really self conscious in just whatever old clothes I had lying around. Enjoy your clothes, you deserve them!
