Twenty-Eight Week Weigh-in: GOAL!

I was actually right at 140 yesterday, but as Mondays are my “official weekly weigh days” I waited to see what I would be at this morning: 139.6! Yippee!

I went out and ran 9 miles in a total euphoria to celebrate and I felt great, great, great!

Twenty-Seven Week Weigh-in

Today I did my official weekly weigh-in and I am 140.8, just .8 pounds from my original goal, yippee! I had a 1.2 pound loss in a little less than a week, so I think maybe my body is over the slight plateau I experienced in Month 6. I haven’t change anything food-wise, though my workout intensity/length is growing as I push myself towards better performance.

Biking with my darling husband!

This morning I ran 10.18 miles and other than some knee and ankle stiffness that came on in mile 9, I felt great and definitely could have kept going. I had fabulous negative splits, with my fastest mile being the last mile — which means I’m definitely learning how to pace myself properly. This is all great news for me since I’ve registered for a Half Marathon in February. I have between now and then to get used to adding another 3 miles to the end of this long run. No problemo. In fact, the hardest thing about a run that long is the fact that it is still frickin’ hot and humid here (oh, and bra chafe, still haven’t completely solved that yet either, it’s always something!). But in February I’ll be looking at 50 degree temps for the race — it will be a JOY to run in that kind of weather. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Twenty-Five and -Six Week Weigh Ins

TWO POUNDS TO GOAL!

When I left town last Monday I forgot to post my Week 25 weigh in, which was 143.8 and as of this morning I am 142, which I’ll use for my Week 26 weigh-in since I forgot to step on the scale on Monday morning before my run. And let me just say that after my 7.08 mile run on Monday morning I saw a lovely 130s number, something I can’t hardly believe! Whoo hoo!

Just 2 pounds to my original goal, yippee! I’m glad I haven’t had to change my calorie level (a range between 1200 and 1600, but usually around 1500 per day) in order to keep losing.

*dances around the room*

Twenty-Four Week Weigh-in

With all that’s going on I forgot to post my weekly Monday weigh-in. I weighed 145 even, which means I lost only -.2 pounds for the week, putting me down -62.8 pounds and -30.22% overall. I’m 5 pounds from goal and I guess things are going to go slow from this point forward (I lost only -3.8 pounds over the course of Month 6), but that’s OK with me. As long as the scale continues in the right direction, it’s all good.

Wow, that was my six month weigh-in; a whole half a year is gone. Never put off til tomorrow what you can do today, because the time sure flies and before you know it, all your daily efforts have piled up into a half a year’s worth of accomplishments.

Twenty-Three Week Weigh-in

Looking forward to taking the diminished me on more hiking like this — Big Basin Redwood State Park in California.

This morning I am 145.2, which is a 2 pound loss for the week and makes me 62.6 pounds down overall. Ooooo and I just passed the 30% (30.12% to be exact) of original body weight lost mark, yay!

So 30% of my former self is sitting on a sofa in another dimension wearing blown-out, elastic-waist shorts, stuffing in the Doritos and HoHos while planning her next giant binge meal — the whole time vaguely wondering why the hell she’s such a chubmeister.

The present 70% of me has completed a 5.51 mile run, eaten oatmeal for breakfast, and is planning her hiking trip to Acadia National Park (we leave on Saturday!) while wearing her new, pretty-darn-cute North Face hiking shorts in roomy size 8. Yeah, I don’t miss that extra 30% at all!

Twenty-Two Week Weigh-in

Still dropping slowly towards goal… this morning I’m 147.2, which is a -1.8 pound loss for the week, and I’m now down -60.6 pounds overall.

I’m still driving hard towards goal, but I’ve been trying to stay away from the computer — I feel like as I’ve gone through this process I’ve been very much a hermit from the real world. So I’m making an effort to re-engage and get out there and DO STUFF instead of spending so much time on the Interwebz. :)

Twenty-One Week Weigh-in

Well, the scale is not cooperating this Monday morning, I have to say! I was down over a pound yesterday, but this morning I bounced back up to 149! Drats. Ah well. For the first time in 21 weeks I’ll be recording a gain (even if it is a tiny one) for a weekly weigh-in. I’m not too freaked out as I have been mentally preparing myself for a bumpier ride the closer I got to goal, but I won’t lie, it’s a bit of a bummer that the scale had to bounce up on a Monday morning. Couldn’t it have waited for Tuesday? Anyway, this week I am 149, which is a +.2 gain for the week and puts me -58.8 pounds down over 21 weeks.

It is too soon to make any sort of changes to my meal planning, I guess, though my knee-jerk mental response is to lower calories. There really is nothing else for me to change. I’m happy with my exercise plan, I’m happy with my food choices, I’m happy with water intake, etc. The only thing to tweak would be calories and I don’t think I’m quite prepared to lower them just yet. But it is a possibility going foward, so I’ll keep an open mind.

My progress pictures show that things are going just fine, so I think I need to heed the advice I’ve given to so many others and not let the scale be the only judge of my progress. :)

Twenty Week Weigh-in

Old news, what with my “Into the 140s” post, but this morning was my official weigh in and I was 148.8, which is a 2.2 pound loss for the week and puts me -59 pounds down for 20 weeks.

Creeping ever closer to goal, yippee! Only 8.8 pounds to go!

Nineteen Week Weigh-in

I never got around to writing this post yesterday because by the late afternoon I appeared to have contracted the bubonic plague. I feel slightly better this morning, though my head is beyond stuffed up — apparently breathing will be optional today. This week’s weigh-in was anti-climactic anyway — there has been no movement on the scale since I hit 151. I have been seeing lower numbers when I step on the scale after I work out, but those don’t count, even though they are lovely 140-something numbers.

But alas, my regular morning weigh-in on Monday morning said I am 151, which is a -0 pound non-loss for the week and puts me -56.8 pounds down for 19 weeks, which is a -2.98 weekly average.

I’m pretty anxious to be in the 140s, but I know these last 11 pounds will take longer to lose and that this slowdown was bound to happen. I’m not too mentally distressed, just a wee bit disappointed not to lose even .2 of a pound. But I will certainly persevere and my enthusiasm hasn’t dimmed one whit.

Eighteen Week Weigh-In

I’m late, I’m late — for a very important date! My 18 week weigh-in fell on a day when I was happily hiking in Big Sur, California! But lucky me, when I checked the fitness center at the hotel that night I discovered a scale! Oh joy, joy, a nighttime weigh-in on an unfamiliar scale! Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but I was feeling daring. I rushed back up to my room and slipped on my bathing suit and then presented myself to this new scale for an official weigh in. Usually I’m very superstitious about weighing in (MUST be naked, first thing in the morning, after going potty and exhaling as hard as possible!) — but hey, when you are on vacation you gotta go with the flow, baby!

According to The Clement Monterey hotel fitness center scale, I’m 151 at night with my bathing suity on, which is a -2 pound loss for the week and puts me -56.8 pounds down for the 18-week period.

I’ll take it!

Here is me on Monday enjoying a hiking break with a view in Big Sur, my new favorite place to kick back and relax.

Oh, I wish I was a little baby fish!
Oh, I wish I was a little baby fish!
I’d go swimming in the nudie,
Without a bathing suity,
Oh, I wish I was a little baby fish!
