Twenty-Seven Week Weigh-in
Today I did my official weekly weigh-in and I am 140.8, just .8 pounds from my original goal, yippee! I had a 1.2 pound loss in a little less than a week, so I think maybe my body is over the slight plateau I experienced in Month 6. I haven’t change anything food-wise, though my workout intensity/length is growing as I push myself towards better performance.

This morning I ran 10.18 miles and other than some knee and ankle stiffness that came on in mile 9, I felt great and definitely could have kept going. I had fabulous negative splits, with my fastest mile being the last mile — which means I’m definitely learning how to pace myself properly. This is all great news for me since I’ve registered for a Half Marathon in February. I have between now and then to get used to adding another 3 miles to the end of this long run. No problemo. In fact, the hardest thing about a run that long is the fact that it is still frickin’ hot and humid here (oh, and bra chafe, still haven’t completely solved that yet either, it’s always something!). But in February I’ll be looking at 50 degree temps for the race — it will be a JOY to run in that kind of weather. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

That’s awesome! You are truely inspirational! What marathon are you doing in February? I’m sure you will be doing more than a half marathon in your runs by then. Oh yes, I hate the bra chafe. That’s why I stick to the gym or go out in the evening (and dodge rain drops)
You are so close to goal! I’m sure next week you will be telling us you are far below it!! YAY!!
10.18 miles? YOWZERS! YOU GO GIRL!
please email some of your motivation. pronto.

Fantastic! Go Jo!
10 plus miles! Don’t you find that every time you push for higher mileage the previously “tough” mile to get becomes an easy one? The more we run the more we can run! Go figure. LOLOL! I’d better get my ass into gear!
Happily getting my mileage up after my crappy running shoe episode.
Did you have to get another mammogram? Probably. It’d better turn out good this time and you’ll just have to fork over the big bucks for those perky boobs!
.8 pounds from goal? Why that’s no more than a good $heet!! Ha HA. You are #1, Joesephine!
You say “original” goal. Does that mean you have revamped it? You = so close, Me = so jealous!
10 miles, that’s so kick ass, the half marathon won’t even be challenging enough for you.
Go Go Jo!
Holy Guacamole -you have SOOOOO aced changing your life! And been one heck of an inspiration to so many others on their “heavy” journey to health and fitness. I hope you have something awesome planned for when you hit the finish line.
