Back from Maine :)
Hey gang! We just got back from visiting family for a week in Maine. We had delayed the trip due to Twinkie’s health and then we had to wait to be out of the cone of danger for hurricane Ike. While in Maine, we didn’t get to go hiking in Acadia, so I’m pretty bummed about that. Everything got sort of screwed up by our delay, but oh well. I was able to run and bike alot while there, though, so I won’t complain about it too much. One day I’d really like to spend some serious time in that park. I guess I’ll add it to my “things I want to do before I die” list, right before “Tango with Russell Crowe” and after “Naked Skydiving”.
I also returned to find out that the mammogram I had right before leaving town has turned up some sort of stupid density and I’ll need to go back for special spot compression views and an ultrasound. Not the greatest news. But hey, my left breast is looking sort of floppy these days any way. So if they say it has to go maybe they can replace it with a much smaller, perkier version. There’s always a bright side, right?
I need to catch up on everyone’s blogs and see what sort of mischief ya’ll have been up to while I was gone!
This is the mischief Schatzy got up to while I was gone. I rather think she was expressing her displeasure at being left behind. Fortunately I had a spare cover.

YAY!! Glad to see you are back and that you had a great time. Lovely how we have to plan vacations around hurricanes. I am stoked that we don’t have anythign coming at us now since i am flying out on Friday.
Mammogram news - not so good. I hope that it is just a smudge on their machine and everything turns out okay. Although getting new boobs would always be a good thing. That’s what I’m looking forward to when I lose this weight. Breast reconstruction. Although my idea of what I want doesn’t quite mesh with hubby’s. LOL.
Glad to have you back
Have the trees started to change up there yet? I have always wanted to travel to the NE, I’ll add it to my “to do” list as well.
I’ll send good vibes your way about the mammogram. Regardless of how it turns out, you are in such better health now that you’ll be more able to handle anything that comes your way. We’re here for you.
Welcome back, Jo.
Sounds like a good trip! Glad you’re back. Your weigh ins are awesome. Sorry to hear the stressful news on the mammogram, hopefully it’s a false alarm. But you’re up for any challenge as far as I can see, so you’ll be able to tackle anything that comes your way. A girlfriend of mine just had a double mastectomy and tummy tuck a few months ago based on breast cancer family history with no sketchy results of her own, which is a little more radical than I’d personally be comfortable with, but she really wanted that tummy tuck, lol.
