Where the hell is my post?

December 26th, 2008

I came in to update my post for today and there isn’t one. And I know I wrote it. Stupid internet.

Weight: 143.8. Yes, you read that right.

Breakfast: ham sandwich, cookies, brownie, M&Ms. And, golly, I wonder why my weight is up.

Lunch: tba UPDATE: one fish taco, but, yuck, it was very breaded and deep fried. Didn’t expect that. Also had a side salad with that. Also had a handful of peanut butter filled pretzels

Dinner: tba UPDATE: small bowl of pumpkin soup, a few crackers, two cookies

Exercise: hopefully will make it to the gym, but my priority is to go to the running store for the big sale and let DH shower me with gifty love.

UPDATE: went shopping, but didn’t go running. Shopping update later, when my kid is not being SO FREAKING OBNOXIOUS about bedtime

Merry Christmas

December 25th, 2008

Weight: 141.4… again

Wednesday food: Snack snack munch cocktail cocktail cocktail munch munch snack. Dessert.

Thursday food: tba, but probably more of the same.

Exercise: hahahahahahahahah, that’s a good one. You are hilarious. Seriously. Cracking me up over here.

Merry Christmas!

Tuesday

December 23rd, 2008

Weight: 141.4… de ja vu

Food: It’s going to be a crazy day. It’s Party Eve, so lots of cleaning, shopping and cooking. My goal is to not eat constantly all day. Wish me luck!

Half Mary: Rest day. Won’t be running again until the day after Christmas, probably. Maybe I can sneak into the gym tomorrow morning for a quickie if they are even open.

Snow Report: STILL BURIED.

Monday

December 22nd, 2008

Weight: 141.4

Breakfast: 1/2 a bagel with cream cheese

Lunch: small order of sweet potato fries and a diet coke

Dinner: cup of oyster chowder and munchies off of an antipasto platter split by three people (yum!)

Half Mary: Went to the gym… which was CLOSED over the weekend due to the crap winter weather we are having. Unprecedented snow for our area! It’s insanity. Everything is just shut down because the city is not equipped to deal with it. So no long run over the weekend, and today I was not feeling the love.

In fact, DH had to really peer pressure me into going at all, I just wanted to lay around all day. But I went and ran 3.5 miles on the treadmill, then rode the stationary bike for 15 minutes while he finished his workout. I couldn’t run or walk anymore. Something was killing me on my foot, and when I got home and showered, sure enough, a blister. Owie.

So as much as I whined and didn’t want to go, I’m glad I went. And I was going to say I’m glad I went “even though I only did 3.5 miles.” And then I had a reality check and reality is, this time last year, I could not run 3.5 minutes. And that is not exaggeration for dramatic effect. It’s the truth. So “even though” I “only” did 3.5 miles today, I kick ass compared to where I was this time last year, and that’s a good feeling.

Tomorrow is the most stressful day of the year at my house. It’s Christmas Eve Party Eve. The kids loathe it. We will be cleaning every nook and cranny and cooking all day in preparation for our Christmas Eve festivities. Assuming we aren’t all buried to death in snow by Christmas Eve.

Happy Monday!

Friday

Weight 138.6… boy howdy!

Breakfast: 1/2 of a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter

Lunch: salad and one slice of pepperoni pizza, but it was a honking huge by-the-slice kind of slice, like the size of a dinner plate. Diet coke.

Dinner: one pulled pork taco, which equals one flour tortilla, one scoop of pork and a mess of sauteed peppers. Two candy cane joe joe’s. Which are the best ever cookie ever of all time ever invented. For real.

Half Mary: Went to the gym. Goal was just run for an hour, regardless of distance. I took three walk breaks. No break was longer than 90 seconds. Speed was pretty much 5.3 mph most of the time, but I did run two half-mile stints (five minutes each) at 6 mph. Anyway… One hour = 5.1something miles, then I walked for six minutes for a total of 5.5 miles. Didn’t want to go. Didn’t want to do it. But it felt good to have it done. Listened to my running playlist, which I haven’t done in a while, so that was kind of fun.

Also, because i was using my playlist, i knew when i should be at the 5k mark, and so my 5k time was 34 minutes. haven’t checked that in a while.

My sports bras are officially too big. As in no support provided whatsoever. I knew i was jiggling around, but didn’t realize that I was rubbing until i got in the shower and felt a HOLY COW WHAT IS THAT pain when the hot water ran over my body. Big rubby raw spot on the underside of one boob. OUCH.

Happy weekend, chicks. I heart you all : )

Thursday

Weight: 140.4

Breakfast: skipped

Post-run snack: a flour tortilla with hummus

Lunch: tba UPDATE: had a healthy choice chicken pasta meal and diet coke. But what I really wanted was a burger and fries. But I didn’t get a burger and fries, did I? No, I did not. Who’s yo’ daddy?

Dinner: tba

Half Mary: Went to the gym and ran on the treadmill. Total mileage was 5.25 miles, total time was run 60 minutes and walk five minutes at the end. I did take a couple of walk breaks during the run, which were all one minute or less in length, mostly to swill water.

My new running buddy is Wentworth Miller. I downloaded season 1 of Prison Break for tready runs. Yay for Wentworth Miller!

Wednesday

December 18th, 2008

Yikes, forgot to post yesterday. Weight was 140.something. Skipped breakfast for fasting blood work. Had lunch at a tearoom, with means I ate a million and a half little sandwiches, plus scones and many tasty desserts. That was a late lunch, so for dinner I had a pita and hummus. No exercise.

Tuesday

December 16th, 2008

Weight: 139.4… yay!

Breakfast: skipped it, was running late for PTA meeting at DD9’s school.

Lunch: one small bowl of pasta fagioli soup, two slices of HOMEMADE GINGERBREAD which is probably the best thing I have ever eaten, seriously. Also had a small piece of a mint brownie and a couple of carmel candy things that were so yummy. Luncheon with my knitting friends, everyone brought baked goods and the hostess made the soup. Me? I showed up with candybars. Seriously. I was running late! In my defense, they were delicious $3 per bar Fair Trade gourmet candy bars made with cocoa from Ghana. They’re quite divine.

Dinner: tba but it will be fast food on the way to DD9’s Christmas play. UPDATE: McD’s small cheeseburger, two chicken nuggets, no fries, diet coke.

Half Mary: I am reevaluating my training plan. I need to taper back during the holidays because it is just not feasible to run four days per week right now. It’s too cold out for one thing, and life is hectic for another. So my goal for the rest of December is run three days per week… 3 miles, 4 miles and 6 miles. I may stay on the same schedule for January as well, then get back on the ramp-up schedule six weeks before my race on April 5. The one that I need to get registered for before it is booked up.

Monday update

December 16th, 2008

Dinner No. 1 last night was two slices of wheat bread with peanut butter and a banana (with DD9 before choir) and Dinner No. 2 was one whole wheat pita with hummus (with DH). Not bad.

Monday

December 15th, 2008

Weight: 140.2… booyah!

Breakfast: granola bar and mini hersheys bar (NOT MY FAULT. I was driving DH’s car and it was JUST SITTING THERE IN THE CONSOLE. What was i supposed to do, ignore it or something?)

Lunch: Healthy choice meal and diet pepsi

Dinner: tba

Half Mary: rest day. But i have found a local race to sign up for. It is April 5. Signing up makes it feel very scary to say i am training for a half marathon… yikes.
