Book Club… come on!
July 18th, 2008
Get off your booties, go to Barnes and Noble or Borders, buy the book and let’s have a book club! Come on! Don’t make me look lame because no one wants to read with me. BOOK CLUB SITE. There are two of us so far, let’s try to make it half a dozen : )
NEW PROJECT NO. 2
July 16th, 2008
Secondly, I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it here but I am an insatiable reader. I read like crazy, just about every genre. Today is July 15. Since the school year ended mid-June, I have read: Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” saga (all three of them in ONE WEEK because I am deranged); same author: “The Host.” “Outakes from a Marriage” by Ann Leary; the Evanovich “14” book though I can’t remember the title; “Spellman Files,” can’t remember the author and am currently working on “Goodnight Nobody” by Jennifer Weiner.
As you can see, sometimes I go for new releases and sometimes I grab things out of the B&N clearance bin.
As you can also see, so far my summer reading has been pretty fluffy. Which is about to change. I’ve decided to read “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” by Michael Pollan. And I thought it might be fun to see if anyone wanted to do a virtual book club and read it along with me. I know it’s not exactly new, and many of you may have already read it. But maybe there are more folks like me who choose fluff along with their fast food and are just now ready to delve into something a little more substantial?
I set up another 3fc page for the book club. If you want in, start reading and then go to the book club page to post comments. I hope at least one or two people are interested. My plan is to do start the book this weekend (assuming I can see!!) and start commenting on it next week. Suggestions and input on how to make this work are more than welcome!
