Oh my god I am wrecked!

Just came home from an afternoon at the fete with my kids! Ended up spending way more than I meant to and stayed way longer than I’d planned too! The school the fete was at is a church school and very visible so the fete was huge, and we had to wait in lines for nearly everything… something that is hard enough with any child, but with my son’s autism it is beyond imagining. He can’t handle waiting and he had about 10 or even more meltdowns today where he dropped, kicked his shoes off, screamed, hit me, kicked me etc.
Somewhere along the line I really hurt my shoulder… maybe it was just carrying everything, but it really aches now.
The good news??? Well, the kids had fun, but for me I made it through the day without eating any bad food! I made sure we had lunch before we left so I wouldn’t have any excuse to eat at the fete. I ended up eating a tiny bit of fairy floss to get rid of an unpleasant taste in my mouth & a snow cone (it was quite warm today).
I think all the walking around we did counted towards some exercise too.. at least my body seems to be telling me that!!! Man I wish I could go to bed right now!

Sounds like all in all you and the kids had a pretty good time. What is fairy floss? Is that like cotton candy? I love the name! Man the meltdown tantrums can be sooo hard my son can have so many in a day and then in the meltdown get a superhuman strength! LOL You take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Joy,
yep, fairy floss is just like cotton candy to my knowledge. You are sooo right about the superhuman strength! It’s why I don’t trust that many people with my son. I know exactly when to let go to get a better grip or to jump back or lean backwards so that he doesn’t hurt me, himself or just run away. Not many people seem to believe me when I warn them - he is stronger than he looks!
Thanks for the comment.. and I hope you had a good weekend too.
