Update

I feel like I need to clarify on the last entry. Yes I did fall off the wagon with the potluck. But not too badly. Unfortunately, now, if I have a big enough binge, I will throw up before bedtime. Even if it was @ 3pm or earlier in the day, I will barf @ 11pm if I overdid. I don’t get it. Have I mentioned how much I HATE throwing up? I can’t stand it. I cry, every time. So I have caught myself a few times, and had to remind myself, just because it’s free, doesn’t mean you should eat it. It’s like my new Potluck Mantra: Just because it’s free, doesn’t mean you should eat it. I love it.

So I’ve been on a pretty even keel. I’ve kept bagels and yogurt at work for breakfasts.  I’ve had pretty good lunches, and snacks, well. I need to add some in. Dinner as usual is 5 prunes and a serving of frosted mini wheats and an extra cup or two of milk. That dinner, yucky as it sounds, is actually pretty comforting and a good way to combat the 3 iron pills I take every day for my kidneys.

I don’t think I made the credit check for the loan program for the Inside Out program, but I think deep down I knew that would happen. So I’m going to make 2008 the day I exercise every day.  After 2 months I will treat myself to a personal trainer session to try to incorporate everything I like to do into something that might actually get me results quicker. That was the thing I was most looking forward to–meeting with an exercise physiologist & learning to work out smarter, not harder. Well, that & being able to watch my triglycerides go down, and my hematocrit and hemoglobin go up.

So that’s it from here, I leave for Mayo Clinic tomorrow. I’m getting an MRI, CBC & urinalysis. Weeeeeeee!

I like your potluck mantra. I used one like that for all the junk brought into the office too!

Your plan to work out on your own sounds good, although maybe you should move up the appt with the trainer because it could help you be more efficient from the beginning. Can your budget allow for a trainer session every 6 weeks or so? That way you could follow a program without your body getting used to it…
