Well, here I am a fabulous 166 pounds and ready to start pushing that number down. Today is day number 1. My biggest struggle is getting my thoughts right. Too often I hear in my head: “I’m tired and I deserve to eat this ice cream, lemon curd, toast, etc…” It is a very powerful and commanding message. Does anyone have any tips?

I have that problem, too. Especially when I’m eating baked chicken and veggies, and I’m hanging out at my parents’ house, where they’re eating fried chicken, biscuits, and french fries. I know I deserve to eat what I want, but I also deserve to put on clothes/bathing suits and feel good about how I feel. That’s why the name of my blog is “getting the body I deserve.” I deserve to be happy about how I look. And how’s this for killing your self-esteem: I’m in a dance class with a bunch of anorexic-looking 14-yr-olds (I’m 24).
My motivation is: when you lose fat and gain muscle, your metabolism speeds up and the muscle will automatically burn fat. Therefore, I won’t have to eat like a health nut the rest of my life. I can just get down to where I want to be and monitor myself.
Good luck!

I blog to keep from watching TV and snacking. It really helps me keep track of what’s going on in my life and how I’m responding to it.
Good Luck and Welcome!
