Just blah or bug?

Off kilter the last few days—nothing major, constant slight headache, a little lightheaded/dizzy, maybe slight temp off and on…..keeping up with things, just getting fed up with it.  Slowly getting caught up with most everyone’s blogs.

School started very smoothly this year, same bus driver for A. and pick-up about 6:30, so a little extra time to sleep, even.  Orchestra teacher asked me to volunteer as her parent rep.; I like her, should be doable.  We’ve had one meeting with interested parents……..I think 5 women showed up, at least 2 of which never said a word the entire time.  Hmmmmmm.  I’m spending part of 2 days measuring new girls for concert gowns next week so we can get them ordered.  I’ve reserved time for one fundraiser—-gift wrapping for  donations at Christmas at a local book store.  Have a meeting next week with 2 of the speaking women to brainstorm about concert receptions–food, decorations, etc.   Will chaperone to local out of school concerts and competitions but not the big 3 day trip (A doesn’t want to go).  Can’t help with lighting/special effects.  Don’t want to be in charge of the newsletter—but I will contribute to it.  That’s about it.

Rachel gave me a good bump with her nose last night; guess I wasn’t paying enough attention to her.  Almost knocked me over.  Bad horse.

Sorry, I can’t post pictures; my computer abilities are minimal—this is about it, other than email and using google.

Food is very slowly getting under control; however I’ve developed a fondness for 80 cal. peanut butter cups…..problem is, one leads to another etc.  Trying to have 2 cups of decaf green tea every day.  Been too high on the sodium too, lately.  Have made the gym twice this week and planning on tomorrow too.

Keep wondering if any of the butterflies in my yard are my two.  Good day, chickadees.

I work for a nonprofit and we’re going to look into having a fundraiser at our local bookstore too! I think it’ll be fun. =D

The peanut butter cups sound good… too good! I hope you feel better, sounds like the flu? Take care of you!

Hello my dear Ms. Close - couldn’t resist popping by to see what you’re up to these days. Yep. This blog program is for the birds. I’d love to see a pic of A flying down the field on Rachel. Ah, well. DO take care, and see a doc (for whatever good they are) if you’re not feeling better soon, you hear?
    Love,
    Z

Welcome back from the laundry room! Yeah, I know…it never ends. I try not to go down there too much.

Good idea about the gift wrapping. I never thought of that one. We have a Winter Bazaar at our school. It would be great to set up a gift wrap booth so folks could get their gifts wrapped while they’re there!

I’m positive those are YOUR butterflies!

    Hey there,
glad to have you back and in the swing. I dont get on much anymore. They have blocked this on my work computer and never seem to find much time at home to get on line. But so want to check up on everyone and see how they are doing. I feel cut off from my friends when I don’t….
I cannot do pictures either, this blog site is really awful and I truly hate the new format so that is another reason I don’t come much anymore. but will continue to check up on all.

Here’s a link to the Cuban Sandwich, Ms. Close!

Be right back with detailed instructions on how to post pictures in this new format.

Here ya go! Here’s the instructions I sent to Susan and they seemed to work okay for her.

When you’re writing a post or editing one, notice right above the formatting toolbar where it says “Add Media *” It has a little star shape beside it. Click on that and it will take you to a media upload page. About three or four lines down on the page it says “browser uploader” in blue. Click on that. When the browser uploader comes up, click on browse and navigate to the location where you saved the picture (are you getting this? There’s going to be a test) After finding the picture you want, click on upload. After the picture is uploaded, you still have to click on the notation at the bottom to decide if you want a thumbnail, medium, etc. After you do that, click on “insert in page”.

Greetings. Glad things are more or less the same. Makes life easier. Sounds like you have this charity thing under control. Wish you were a parent at my school. We don’t have any parents involved at all- no PTA! Of course that means I can threaten the kids with uniforms as I don’t have to pass it by any parents!:P

    Take care
    Shari

This is for Patty, sorry soclose for using your blog, but I don’t know how to reach Patty
I followed your directions to the letter, and this is what I get:

Unable to create directory /home/admin3fc/public_html/diet-blogs/wp-content/blogs.dir/620/files//2008/09. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    Suggestions?

Okay, just when I thought you couldn’t possibly take on more activities, you go & take on this parent rep thing! Where are you finding the time? Days are just the standard 24-hours long where you are, right?

The peanut butter cups sound yummy, but I’ve never been one of those “just one for me” type of people with chocolate either. I mean, who are these people who can say no to chocolate? Have it in their homes for more than 10 minutes before eating it? Take it or leave it?

Glad to hear that even though you haven’t posted much since you got back…and again, I can’t imagine where you’d find the time to write anyway…you’re still on track. Of course, on a purely selfish level, I wish you were posting more, but this isn’t, as it turns out, all about me.

Cheers soclose! It’s nice to have you back!

Hi Soclose, sounds like you are going to have a busy school year ahead, but all that is good stuff.
Been missing you all and I’m glad to catch up and see that you’re okay. Hope your head-achey thing goes away and doesn’t turn out to be a cold or something.

I used to get that same message that Islandgrl reported - but that was before the upgrade to the blogs….???

  12. runningbee Says:

Thanks for checking in with me! I thought I had left you a welcome back message - guess crazy me forgot to hit the ‘enter’ button. Glad to see your camping trip was good - you’re a far better camper sleeping in a tent - I dragged along the kitchen sink and toilet! And hurray no bus hassles this year :) Have a great week!

  13. rubyjean Says:

Are you feeling better yet? Hope so!
    Ruby
