The chinchillas sound so cute. I do not want to know what the pirhana eats!

Good for you, getting to the gym. I reckon the 50-somethings of today are a force to be reckoned with. Coz 50 is the new 30 and we're getting out there and doing stuff that's fun and we don't have to worry so much about getting the kids off to school any more. Yeah, it's our turn.

PS - I was NOT referring to boredom when I said thinking about workout routines makes me want a nap! I was thinking physical exertion/ exhaustion!!!!!! And in reference to myself, sheer laziness! I am INSPIRED by your exercise routines - just not inspired sufficiently, more's the pity, to try doing it for myself. Keep up the good work, Ms. Close - it makes me happy to think of how fit you are even if I'm a puddle of slightly mobile pudding....LOL!
More hugs,

I'm with ella, baby creatures make my heart melt. I swing between weighing myself every day and ignoring the scale altogether when I know I won't like the numbers. You're definitely NOT stupid! I've recently learned that the last bit of weight we want to try and lose is usually very hard. I have a hundred years before I get to that point, and I think you do fabulously!

A water slide! What fun! I haven't done one in a while. The nice thing about climbing up those things is that there's always such a line that you get to take the four stories of steps sloooowly! ;-)

We have a nice water park here at Kentucky Kingdom but they hire all the teenagers for summer jobs. There's no way I'm going to encounter a bunch of my students in a bathing suit while I'm fifty pounds overweight! God, I have to face these kids in the fall and command respect from them!

I'm so envious of the homegrown tomatoes! I decided not to try this summer. Last year I ran myself ragged and begged them to give me some tomatoes in spite of the dense shade but I only got about two or three on each plant.

Yes, I'm going to blog throughout vacation as much as I can. Are you going out west with us?

Oh, how cute those chinchillas must be! When we were up in the White Mountains a few weeks back, a fellow had a little brood of flying squirrels thst he was feeding with an eye dropper as the mother had been killed. Sweet little things - eyes weren't even open yet. I find pretty much any kind of babies irresistible, of course. Piranhas, I think, might be an exception.
You are SO not stupid! I don't get weighed (or weigh myself) if I know it isn't going to make me happy. There are enough things in the world to be depressed about (the cost of gas, food, the war in Iraq, the fact that Bush is STILL president...guess I don't have to go on) that I've made up my mind that while I might be passingly irritated by not being a naturally skinny person, I'm not going to let it make me feel bad about myself (any more than I can help, that is.) Ms. Close, you are a wonder! You are a true jewel who shines strong and pure. You are one of the truly evolved ones, for pity sake! Don't you dare ever think of yourself as stupid in ANY context! Hey. Think of not weighing yourself as an indication of admirable restraint! Self control! (Doncha just want to hop on that dang thing when you see it sitting there in the corner, minding it's own business...?) See? There are many perspectives to an issue. One (wo)man's stupid is another (wo)man's superb mental conditioning!
Have a great weekend!
