Sleeping in

Late hours and all the running around of the week caught up to me; I had about 4 hrs. sleep last night so after I took A. to the bus, I came home and crashed—napped from about 7:00 to 10:30 am.  Feel much better now but meals are screwed up.  DH actually suggested going out for lunch—it happens so rarely that he eats out (or goes out, period), except for work, that I jumped on it.  So breakfast (?) was an Arby’s french dip minus the cheese about noon.  Was hoping for a better venue but out is out and when he wants to go out it’s rare.  Now that the weather is nice he’s been running a couple times in a park close to our house.  Think I mentioned before, he’s NOT social at all!!  Drives me nuts sometimes–he will not go anywhere—happy in his home.  Well, to each their own, I guess.  We’ve been doing it this way for a lot of years and I doubt anything will change.  He’s perfectly content with his math books, computer, reading, and ham radio.

I did find some good news in yesterday; although I did have a piece of pie, I didn’t have any candy bars!  One day down withput a Kit Kat, Milky Way, or Twix… ……… a victory of sorts, I suppose.  I have cleaned a bowl of huge strawberries to snack on this afternoon till I must go pick up A.

Will update later, chickadees.

Update….dinner: V8 juice, mixed baby greens salad w/tomatoes and olives, balsamic vinegar dsg., brussels sprouts, handful of peanuts, one pudding cup. I’m hungry now ( probably cause I had only 2 meals) but it’s almost 11 pm so I’ll just have a mug of warm milk and a Wasa cracker while watching the 11pm news.  No candy bars 2 days in a row!!!!

G’nite chickadees!

Nice progress on the candy bar front, Ms. Close! I am an Arby’s FREAK!!!! I LOVE their curly fries….I mean, I absolutely ADORE the damned things! I have ruined many a diet by being to close to an Arby’s. Once in a while last year, DH & I were liking those sandwiches they make on the whole grain breads - I can’t remember what they called them - but we would every so often decide to just pick up a couple for supper when we were both tired and coming off those long commutes of ours, and if I was the one picking them up, I would also get an order of curly fries and eat it on the way home. Then, of course, I would sit & eat those healthy sandwiches with DH, looking really virtuous. Hah! And I wondered why my scale was so cruel and uncompromising! Sounds like you know how to set limits, though, and that’s always been tough for me.
Sory you were feeling so exhausted, but am very glad that you carved out a little naptime for yourself.
    Hugs,

Just reading about candy bars makes me want to jump in the car & pick up one (or a couple, a few, maybe a half dozen, you know, for later or in case they stop making them or something).

Have you tried any of the Weight Watchers’ candies? They aren’t light on the calories, but they are individually wrapped, so portion control is a little easier.

Once in a while I’ll buy a bag & keep it in the glovebox for those times when I’m starved & considering picking up a McD’s cheeseburger to tide me over. Anyway, I recommend the chocolate covered toffee ones (60 cals, but a pretty big piece of candy).

Good work on Candy bars. But you guys have got such good options in low cal. dessert in US. Like those WW icecreams Ella mentions. Also I am sure they are many low calorie dark chocolates. Though luckily I don’t have a very pronounced sweet tooth; I think I am doing well with my occasional 104 cal dark chocolate bars and 54 cal perks bars.

Okay one more out of the line comment (perhaps). :) I found the description of your hubby very attractive. :) Please write some day about how you met. I would love to hear all that.

    Lots of love,

    iniya
