nothing much
Checking in; nothing major new. Volunteered and worked races both Sat. am and Sun. afternoon. Had free tickets so I went to a craft show this am. Bought nothing. A lot of the booths were food—-mixes for dips, soups, hot chocolate and other drinks. After the race yesterday we went to Busch Gardens, had free passes there, too. Got on no rides; too crowded. Went to one show and walked miles, of course.
Did go to the gym Friday before the funeral; 3.02 mi. tm, 7 min. on the rower. It was the first funeral I’ve ever gone to where I didn’t know the deceased. Son of a woman in my ladies lite aerobics class. Almost the whole class went. Rather strange to see everybody in dress clothes. Some of the women have exercised together for years and years; it’s a very long standing group.
Friday night took A. to ride. Rachel was a dream; sailed over the jumps and behaved beautifully. She did have some small splinters in her neck which A. got out. Probably got in an altercation with another mare in the paddock and got pushed against the fence off balance. Maybe. Don’t really know.
Food; not terrible, not great.
A. is doing homework; I’m doing laundry. G’nite chickadees.

Isn’t it strange going to a funeral where yoou don’t know the deceased? I went to one for a friend’s mother. Just went to support the friend. Very strange feeling.
Good to see the horses doing so well.

Awww, I would’ve loved checking out that chunky, crafty jewelry! I had forgotten about THAT Busch Gardens, too. Took the kids there years ago and had the greatest time! I’m glad Rachel’s behaving herself for A.
Hugs,
Z

Soclose are you in CT?
I hate overcrowded parks - takes all the fun out of it. I think funerals are less for the dead and more for the living - it was nice of you all to go for your friend.

You had a great day too! So sweet of you to attend the funeral….
Ahhh Busch Gardens - man does that seem a lifetime ago. I almost got a job doing caricatures there but decided to join the army instead.
Hmmmm, wonder how my life would have been different?

Except for the funeral - and yes, it is strange when you didn’t know the person - and really nice of you to go - sounds like a nice week-end. I’ve never been to Bush gardens, I’d love to go and also to see Williamsburg. Maybe this summer?
So good that Rachel behaved for dear A.
Hope your week ahead is a good one - way to go on the exercising!

Usually when I go to a funeral for someone I don’t know I hear how great they are and am sorry I never knew them when they were alive!
Glad the horse is working out. Are you going to sign up for another month?
