There, how’s that for an inspired title?  Day started off with the dog getting me up WAY too early, so, after I let her out, I spent the rest of my night on the couch.  Had some strange dreams there, nothing awful, just strange.

Our running club did the finish line at a race at an elementary school today.  A and I worked the race; she also ran, first with the girls, then the boys.  Then we drove over to see Gracie the wonder horse, who was so enraged about being groomed she broke one of the metal snaps on a set of cross ties.  A. has so much patience with her, I wanted to whisper, “Glue factory” in her ear.  She was exercised and did rather well—I’d had visions of bucking after the cross tie incident.  A. rode with the bareback pad and got her up to a trot.  That is one lazy horse.  After the workout she let me use the electric clippers to clean her face up a bit–she’s so shaggy after winter.  After exercise she doesn’t put up much of a fight, but believe me, I was ready to jump far, far away from her at the first twitch.

Tried to eat up some leftovers so food is a bit strange.

Bfsk: broccoli/cheese soup, cube steak w/ mushrooms, vanilla yogurt w/blueberries…………lunch (out): 1/2 cheese steak sand., few chips….snack: almonds, applesauce, peanuts………may have a glass of V8 or something light yet but it’s almost 9pm so I think I’m pretty much finished.    Just remembered, I have a lunch to go to tomorrow with the ladies aerobics group, got to start thinking about that menu so I can order something reasonable.

G’nite chickadees–sleep tight.

Spring forward

Yep, tonight’s the night.  It was just at the point where it was light when we were leaving the house in the am, now we’ll be back in darkness again.

Nice day.  Found a great sale at Sears—lots of 40 to 80% off the already sale price racks.  Got 2 tops for A., 2 tops for me, and a pair of black dressy slacks—all for barely $50.00.  Not half bad!!!  Funny thing though, got in the dsg. room the first time and was trying to pull on slacks both mis-marked; had a size 1 and a size 2—-ha! not in this lifetime.  Maybe a good sign though?  Saw a movie–Penelope, kind of cute.

Usual breakfast…….ate at Five Guys for lunch–burger with a few fries (soaked in vinegar, of course)……..1/2 Kit Kat and some peanuts and applesauce for snack………..dinner out: salad, lasagne, bit of pasta salad, roast pots, 2 bites of a cannoli—had a very good time, got caught up with people I haven’t seen for a few months, lovely volunteer award.

Not a very good day food wise, huh?  Well, we all have them.

Off to bed, chickadees!

Pretty much all day off and on; teeming as I was bringing A. home from school.  We are still way low so it is welcome.

She’s still not feeling quite right, she says….hmmm–there’s so much going around I suppose it very well could be more than just tom.  Yesterday she did stay and do soccer practice but then went to bed immediately after eating (about 6pm) and slept till 5am when I got her up to do homework (which means I got about 5 hrs. sleep again!).  She says today she felt kind of faint a couple times today at school.  She ate real well tonight and seems fine to me, so we’ll see.  DH has just not been “right” this week either, not himself is the best I can put it.  He didn’t even finish off the last piece of carrot cake and that’s just not like him.  Not talking (well, he never does, much!), irritable, denies anything wrong……time will tell.  He just finished up an antibiotic for a sinus infection.

Gym this am…..stretch and exercise mat, 1.25 miles on tm., 12 min. rowing, ladies lite aerobics.

Have a dinner to go to tomorrow night, no idea what I’ll wear.

Got some gorgeous Rome apples so I made applesauce this afternoon; peeled and added a yellow Delicious to the mix also.  I have always been inordinately proud of myself if I can keep the peel whole when doing apples; don’t know why, it’s really crazy to believe you’ve actually accomplished something noteworthy!  It just about kills me to throw out all that good fiber in the peel.

Food today…..bfsk: Grapenuts Flakes w/skim, decaf tea w/skim……. snack: 1 piece Alpine Lace Swiss, V8……..lunch: salad of mixed baby greens with tomatoes and red pepper, small cube steak  w/mushrooms, 1/2 small baked pot., asparagus, pudding cup……snack: almonds, 1/2 Kit Kat…………dinner: 1/2 can split pea and ham soup, applesauce  (honest, if you’ve never made it homemade, you’d be amazed how much better it tastes than the stuff in the jar!!!).

Current reading:  Break No Bones—Kathy Reichs………….Mad Dash—Patricia Gaffney

Have a good week-end for yourselves, chickadees.

Blogging

is good for your health, according to an article on discoveryhealth.com.  I suppose we already knew that.  BTW, isn’t this a cheap, no sweat, lazy way to come up with a title?  I’m finding myself doing it more and more.  Ahhhhh…the shame!!!!

Went to the gym today: stretch and exercise mat,  2.55 mi. on tm.  Then quick trip to the grocery store, then home.  A. is in school today, having been well-medicated and firmly and lovingly escorted there by yours truly.  Told her I would pick her up before soccer practice if she didn’t feel up to it but haven’t heard anything so I suppose all’s well. (as I knew it would be)

Food– bfsk: Grapenuts Flakes w/ skim, decaf tea w/ skim……..snack: hard boiled egg, V8 juice…………lunch: broccoli/cheese soup w/extra broccoli added, 4 slices deli thin turkey, 1 pudding cup……….will update food later……………..later: snack: peanuts…………dinner: large salad of baby greens, red pepper, tomatoes w/ light Greek dsg., pudding cup, 1/2 pkt. Instant Breakfast (dark chocolate)w/ skim milk, about 6 oz.

Saw another couple signs of Spring—-I’ve had 1 white anemone blooming for a few days and today I saw Bradford Pear trees in bloom near the school,  there’s a couple trees out back on the bank of the drainage ditch with pink blooms but I have no idea what they are, have a neighbor who wants to dig them out and take them, told her to go ahead.

See ya’ll later, chickadees!

ho hum

I’m still here, just kind of listless.  Nothing much going on.  Food has not been bad.  Went to gym on Monday, missed today.  I took my car to the dealership today as it’s been dying on me when I go to pull out.  They did something called an engine top clean and I had the oil changed while there as it was close to due.

We had bad storms last night between about 1 am and maybe 4 am.  Bright beautiful rather cool day now.

A. is home from school, tom.  Poor kid.   She worked with Gracie on Sunday–had some excellent help with the training from another regular at the barn; I think she learned a lot.  Gracie, however, still won’t move if she doesn’t want to.  A. did get a bit of a ride though.  The new stallion (just fixed) had a saddle on him for the first time and did much better than I thought he would.  He really likes attention and is quite friendly.  No rider yet though, so that may change.

Onward, chickadees!

I love her

BUT, she is getting on my last nerve.  Trapped in the car with her, listening to a constant whine about why she can’t have a horse of her own and why I won’t let her just go and work in a stable all summer.  Another blogger was writing about her 2 yr. old and how sweet he is, I actually got teary remembering those days.  You know, I honestly do remember thinking, back then, as I was soaking up the lovin’, about how I really needed to absorb all I could because someday she would be a teen-ager.  Well, this evening was certainly one of those times!!!!!!!  Whatever about a summer job of some type, and I’m still thinking that one over, there will be NO horse bought by me.  Not now, not ever!!!!   I have no desire to ever be responsible financially for a horse.  The absolute cheapest board around here is close to $3,000.00/yr., then there are vet bills and medicine, transporting—we don’t have a truck or trailer, farrier bills and I’m sure 50 other things I’ve forgotten.  We do not have horse money, period.   I’ve heard the “I’ll take care of it” line before with the dog.  The poor thng would have starved the first month.  And she just doesn’t have time.

Anyway, it’s been a typical Sat.: A. had a morning lecture, then I dropped her at the h.s. to go on the bus to an orchestra competition, got myself to the school to hear her school perform, movie-Spyderwick, a few laughs, not really my cup of tea.

Food: bfsk: Grapenuts Flakes, skim, hardboiled egg, blueberries…….lunch: 1/2 plain turkey sandwich, peach yogurt, walnuts………dinner: Wendys—single w/ tomato, lettuce…, sm. chili, frosty

Heading to bed, I think.  G’nite, chickadees.
