possible horse sighting

Tomorrow at 1 pm we have a meeting with a guy who’s currently paying someone to exercise his horse as he’s short on time with her.  She’s a thoroughbred, 9 yrs. old, he bought her from his college riding program when he graduated after taking it as a pe credit and falling in love with riding.  I spoke with him briefly yesterday and it turns out he went to my daughter’s high school, same IB program.  SOOOOOO…….maybe, maybe.  Fingers crossed.  This place is only  about 15 min. away, if that.  This one’s name is Rachel.  That’s sort of how we met Betsy the Basenji.  Her owners divorced and the man got her, became a stockbroker, and was working insane hours so he just wanted someone who was basenji- experienced to take her.  She was a world traveler; had lived in Japan for 2 years.

It was way too hot for this time of year here; mid 80’s today.  I’ve even seen a few patches of iris’s in bloom and I can’t ever remember seeing them in March before.  But we’re losing the high temps—back to 50 for a high tomorrow and Sun.

I actually slept very well last night and got a full 7 hrs.  It felt great to wake rested and be normal today.  Can we go for 2 in a row?

We did go out to the country to see my house sitting friend yesterday.  Had A. handle all the map reading and navigation.  She did well; only once got me off a highway too soon–1 exit early.  Thank God we weren’t on 64 where some idiots were shooting at cars yesterday.

That house had to be at least 7,000 sq. ft., just built, strange color decor inside.  There was a huge room on the 2nd floor: media/ game room; I swear you could put 2 bowling lanes end to end and have room left over.  In the absolute middle of nowhere.  Goats next door on one side and horses on the other.  My daughter would move there in a heartbeat.  Me–not on your life.  My neighbor was real glad to get home today.

Food has been OK if you don’t count the ice cream.

Giddyup, chickadees!

The new horse situation sounds good. My fingers firmly crossed - if only it lessens your driving.

Very good to hear about the good sleep. Looks like the sleep fairy I sent to Anngirl, stopped by you too. Please tempt her as much as you can to make her move in permanently. :)

The house sounded fun. I wouldn’t definitely stay in the middle of nowhere easily. Except if I can afford a get away kind of house. I would want a small strong hidden in deep jungle, near a small stream. Although I would do well one with a great view of a lovely mountain range or a gorgeous sea beach. Lake won’t cut it, sorry. :) As if any of it is going to happen. I dont even have a garden in my rented house.

But a huge room sounds good. I would fit a laaaarge screen and watch movies and tv series using a very good projector and get properly lost in the imangine-land. :)

    love,

Oh, goody. I KNEW another horse would turn up for A. It has something to do with the law of attraction, maybe? 80’s???? 80’s?????? WHAT? Omigawd! I’m on my way! As for that house….good grief. It’s amazing, isn’t it, the way some people live in this country? 7,000 square feet of luxury space that needs a house-sitter because the owners are elsewhere. Hmmm. And at the other end of the totem pole we have folks squeezing into cardboard cartons on Boston Common (and in cities all over the country). And we’re paying close to $4 a gallon for gas while the oil company execs earn millions of dollars in salaries, benefits, perks and - yes - bonuses because of how cleverly they’ve managed to siphon away OUR hard earned money. I imagine their numerous homes are built on the 7000 sq, ft. scale, as well. Bah, humbug!
    And, for my next tirade…..LOL….
SO glad you’re sleeping better, my dear - I know that when I have a bout of insomnia, it takes me a week to start feeling less zombie-like.
Have you tried the Weight Watchers ice creams? I’ve been allowing myself one of those round chocolate ice cream sandwiches every evening, and they are delish! Only 140 calories!
    Hugs,

How did the horse situation work out? I bet A is so excited. Did you get the Basenji? They are lovely dogs - and no barking!! We have a few in the park. Actually we have an apparently rare black and white one in our park! I met if first so thought they were all that colour.

Glad you are sleeping well. Have you tried sleepy time tea? I know it is probably a lame suggestion, but I used to drink it just gazing out the window before bed. I also recently learned that watching tv or being on the computer causes so much activity in the visual cortex that it will take 1.5 hours for your brain to calm down to sleep. Try reading for an hour before bed instead of television. It certainly stopped those CSI nightmares for me!

    Cheers!
    Shari

Yaay about the horse and good job teaching A. to navigate, or letting her learn. That’s a great skill. And Wow and Yaay and Congratulations and Yippee on that sleep. Now I am jealous of two people!
