ouch w/update

Yesterday started out with a speeding ticket while taking A. to her  lecture.  41 in a 25.  I have been guilty SOOOOO many times of speeding, I couldn’t even get mad or too upset, figure it just caught up to me; and the cop was nice, not mean or sarcastic or anything.  But, I did say the F-word when I pulled over; at first I thought maybe I just thought it, but no, I said it, as A. let me know, rather much to her delight.  I made a HUGE effort to clean up my language after she was born because I hate to hear little kids cuss and really couldn’t imagine those words coming out her mouth.  I’ve done very well.  I know she goes to public school and hears it all the time (maybe says it) but I’ve made it very clear that she won’t cuss where I can hear—she’s tried the f-word twice in front of me and lost her allowance for the rest of the month for it both times.  AARRRRGGG!!!!  I could just kick myself.

Anyway, we made it to the outlets, which were impossibly crowded. Bought A. some things, that’s all.

Food yesterday was Ok, usual bfsk, 6″ Subway sub for lunch, salad, hush puppies, and blackened tuna at a favorite place on the way home.

Yes, I will get the windshield taken care of (kept wondering if the cop was going to mention it) and the tire checked out…..there’s just never any time.  The crack is getting bigger and now it’s across my line of sight so it has to go.

I have 4 daffys open now.  In about a week I’ll be able to cut and bring in a big bunch.  I love to see them on the table, so cheerful.

Later:  Food today was less than good, maybe delayed reaction to the ticket????  Anyway, I started the day with a big handful of cashews and 6 dark chocolate Hershey kisses—not quite my usual bfsk!!!!!  A bit later I did have Grapenuts Flakes w/skim and V8,    in a few hrs. dh got up and made a huge stuffed omlet which I had a piece of……..since then it’s been mostly squares (about 6) of organic dark chocolate and about half an hour ago a few mandrin orange slices and a small f.f. vanilla yogurt.  Can’t remember a day with worse food choices—chocolate, chocolate, chocolate–my belly is actually kind of unsettled and unhappy, no surprise.  G’nite!

Have a good day, chickadees.

LOL! Sorry about the ticket, but your inadvertent “unacceptable language problem” made me laugh because like you, I have never used bad language in front of my children nor tolerated it from them. Ditto my grandchildren. A year or so ago, I had picked up my granddaughter from her after school day care program and someone cut me off in traffic - VERY close call, and nearly hit me on the side of the car where my granddaughter was sitting in the backseat. I blurted out, “F—-!!!!!!!!!!!” and wouldn’t you know, the minute we walked through the door of my daughter’s house, she gaily chortled, “Ooh-mama (that’s what they call me) said a REAL bad word!!!!!” When we were in the car, of course, she had said, “Ooh-mama, that’s a BAD WORD!” and I said, “Oh, no, honey…I said…um…LUCK! That’s what I said…I said what good LUCK that they didn’t hit us! I said LUCK…LUCK. That’s what I said!” Obviously didn’t fool her for a minute. Danged kids!

I swear like a truck driver, but I teach, so I can’t get it out during the day- it all comes flowing out at home at night. Although someday when we have kids I’m totally screwed. I’m sure your daughter got a kick out of hearing you say that- even though you know it isn’t a good influence, she knows you’re human!
