GRRRRRRRRRR……
Well, it has happened again!!!! Today is dh’s birthday in addition to the holiday so I dragged him out ot lunch—no small feat. We went to a nice family style B-B-Que place near our house. Food was good BUT toward the end of the meal, dh was finished, I was almost finished, our waitress comes over and very sweetly asks him if he would like more tea. Nothing wrong with that, except that MY glass (which wasn’t more than 3″ from his, but definitely on my side of the table) was almost empty and I was totally ignored. I have had it!!!!!! I did something today that I’ve not done before; I left absolutely NO tip. New rule: when I’m invisible, there will be no tip.
We were on 2hr. delay today for school due to weather, bit of snow and ice, good call. Didn’t do any gym. Have a cheesecake (his choice) for the birthday celebrant. Will have a smidge later. Tummy really good today. Yay!!!
Bfsk: leftovers from Boston Market: turkey, green beans, mixed veg. and oj……………..lunch: pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, and 1/2 slice bread…………
will update food later….the invisible woman

I waited tables in college and I am super serious about good service when I go out to eat. I have no problem leaving a 40 percent tip when the service is good and I have no problem leaving a penny or less when the service sucks and that lady sounds like she deserves zip. How rude!!

wow - that is just rude - as a former waitress myself -WTF? I agree with your tipping strategy! ; Wow - it’s amazing how thoughtless someone can be - what the hell?
I hope it didn’t ruin your day sweetpea

That was really bad of the stupid waitress! You did well to leave no tip. We all need to stand up for ourselves.
Please don’t let that bother you.
Love,

Good for you! I agree - no tip. I probably would have asked her if she noticed that my glass was empty. I know - I can be pretty b*tchy sometimes, but that really makes me angry.

There is a woman in our town who goes out of her way to greet Neil, but will stand, as she does so, with her back to me. That’s the only time this has ever happened to me, and it always shocks me. I cannot repeat here what I call her in my head, but Anngirl would be impressed. :0

It just infuriates me when things like that happen. Rude servers suck. Actually, rude people in general suck. Hope DH has a great birthday, enjoy that cheesecake for me.

I was once told that leaving a penny is worse than leaving nothing. Nothing could be an oversight. A penny, was a definite thought! I agree bad service receives bad tip. I work too hard for my money. On the same stream, I rarely give money to street people. Not sure how many you have in your towns, but our city has a fair share - and as I am downtown, most of the homeless shelters are in my neighbourhood - in fact a police officer told me there are 30,000 homeless in my neighbourhood!!! Anyway, I have been known to go into McDonalds and order a combo and GIVE it to the homeless person but I have no desire to “feed” their drug or alcohol habits.
Just my rant!
