change a comin’
Beautiful warm, windy day….went outside about 11:00am and just vegged in the sun—felt soooo good! Back to the reality of Feb. tomorrow. I so wish this warmth would stay around.
Exercise: gym: stretch and exercise mat, 2.94 mi on tm, 12 min. on rower I’m getting calluses from the rower; suppose I should get some of those exercise gloves.
Food: 5:45am bfsk: oatmeal w/ skim, V8, tea w/skim……….9am snack: 1/2 pear, peach yogurt, walnuts……..12:30pm lunch: mixed greens salad w/ balsamic vinegar dsg., Hawaiian Beef Stew over brown rice………5pm dinner: (out @ local Italian place) salad w/ about 1/2 oz. house Italian dsg., spag. tossed w/ olive oil and garlic—ate about 1/3 of the serving, had about 4 of those little spoons they give you with chocolate gelato.
My husbands’ work hours have shifted to him starting 2 hrs. earlier; I think I’m going to like this better—-I get more time alone during the day. I like having some time alone with the house empty. It’s restorative and that contributes to me staying somewhat sane. I’ve always liked alone time. When I was a teen-ager I’d take a book and climb a maple tree and just read for hours and hours and not answer when called. I’d go home in my own sweet time and noone ever found me in my tree.
G’nite, chickadees.

Actually, the same went with me. I used to have a Willow tree I would climb to get away from things. I even carved, ‘Me + Tree’ into the tree where I would sit. Us crazy teenagers! I hid in there too, and wouldn’t come down right away if called. Ah, the memories.

I need to do that tree thing now ! Except I’m pretty sure my 17 month old would find me, stinker that he is
I used to love the rowing machine, though I could never do it for long. It always felt like you were getting such a good workout,. You are GOOD to do 12 minutes!!

I am like you, I NEED my ME time. I rarely get it so when I do, I treasure it. My DH works from home so it seems we are glued at the hip 24/7 as he is there even on my rare days off. He is quite needy and does not understand why I would want to be away from him for some ME time. There are times I pray for a “tree”

What is Hawaiian stew? I live here and have no idea what it is
But it sounds good

We had a rowing machine given to us and just let it go to waste. It was a good one too.
You are the third person I’ve seen mentioning the need and pleasure in “alone time”. I agree with that. At certain times in your life, it is a luxury.
Good job on the exercise and good eating!

I certainly need down time too. Not that I can squeeze much in with all of these jobs. Reading or going to the movies alone were my favourites. Not much of a tree climber - of course we had Maples and the lowest branches were about 4 feet above my head so it was hard to climb.
