down one half/update
I weighed yesterday and was down one half pound….checked again today and it’s holding!!!! This, despite the fact that I slacked off on gym and ate at KFC, 1/2 chocolate bar, and a whole Kit Kat last week. Go figure!!!!
Yesterday’s food: bfsk: grapenuts flakes w/ skim, V8, 1/2 banana……3 cups decaf coffee w/skim (waiting while A. was at lecture)………late lunch: cup tomato-basil soup, 1/2 Greek salad, 1/2 manicotti serving, 2 scoops chocolate yogurt ice cream (lunch was at a new place—beautiful decor, equally good food)………..later: really wasn’t hungry but realized I should have a bit before bed….about 2 T. f.f. cottage cheese, 1/2 multigrain Wasa cracker
Today….bfsk: 2 scrambled eggs w/chives, 1/2 piece whole wheat toast w/spray butter—meant to eat the whole thing but dropped it on the floor, lo salt V8, mix of blueberries and dark sweet cherries, decaf tea w/skim……..will update food later–have chicken defrosting, don’t know what I’m going to do with it yet……..Update….lunch: Wendy’s chili-small, side salad w/f.f. French dsg., 1% chocolate milk…………..dinner: chicken in a sauce of ketchup, onion, soy sauce, lemon, pepper, olive oil, and brown sugar–had 1/2 small breast, stuffing, steamed yellow squash.
We’re heading to the far barn with the 3 yr. old horse for some training. ( Later) Well, that was a bit of a bust. We got her all brushed and groomed and combed and hoofs picked-quite a job as she had rolled in mud (and worse!); saddled her up, took her in the ring and A. got on her and she just refused to move. She went around twice with me leading (pulling, begging) but that is not what A. had in mind. A. did the usual stuff–tapped her on the sides with her boots, tappped her behind—nothing. Hmmmmm…I think maybe A. better go back to her horse training books and read that chapter again. I mean, they do move instinctively, don’t they? I can understand teaching gaits but she wouldn’t move at all.
G’nite chickadees from someone who is most certainly NOT a horse whisperer.

Actually, I think our bodies adjust to certain patterns of eating and regulate themselves to maintain, whatever our level of intake. It’s good, I think, to “jog” them from time to time…eat a little more, and then drop down again, and it always seems to result in a loss. Hah! Dropping half your food on the floor! Now, THERE’S an innovative weight loss strategy if I ever heard one! Enjoy your session at the barn….and stay warm! Snowing, here…pretty, fluffy flakes that are making everything outside look like a postcard. That’s until you go out and start trying to drive someplace in it. Harrumph!
Hugs,
Z

Good job on the 1/2 pound - it does take time to lose, but you’re doing well. The eating looks great!

Good job on the loss. I agree with Ella, often eating more and then less works.
Surprised about the horse. Did you figure what happened later? I am curious
I know nothing about horses and am quite scared of them too.
love,
iniya

I had horses since I was thirteen. If I was on a green horse that refused to move, I’d use a crop and gently smack them on the rump. That usually does it. If not, basic spurs are also good. The problem with this is that you need an experienced rider, because a green horse is a dangerous thing. Some horses go off bucking with the first touch of a spur to their flank - same with the crop. It’s a necessity, but you need to be ready for the horse to go bronco on you. If leading the horse a few steps before letting them go doesn’t make them keep moving, the rider needs to show the horse who is the boss. By being led around the ring, the horse is being the boss. She won’t move if she doesn’t believe the rider is in charge. Good luck to you on your horse training!

Congrats on the weight loss
I am with mizu on the horse. I grew up on horse back. Used to barrel race as a kid and we did snaffle bit as adults. A green rider and a green horse can be dangerous if the horse does not know who is boss.
Good luck and have fun
