Oh man, hearing your daughter's story brought back memories of my own test taking. Just wait until she hits college and she has midterms ALL IN THE SAME DAY. It was horrible. By the end your wrist is swollen and your arm is shaking and aching from holding a number 2 pencil all day. I never had such a crammed test-taking experience until I hit college. It's absolutely dreadful. Worse yet, you can't complain to the professors about how you have to take a test on that day with all the rest of them. They are basically telling you tough luck. I guess all your daughter can do is prepare herself for the worst! It's really unfortunate we are pushed hard, but this is what happens when students in Japan and China study longer than students in the United States. We get pushed to catch up academically. Actually, it could be worse for your daughter. Students in Asian countries typically have to pass 1 test in one go after high school. If you fail it, you can't go to college. Your choices are wither a role as a common laborer or a peon in the military. If you do okay, you get a crappy college and might be a teacher. Only the best and brightest get to the best colleges, and they are the ones who become the country's leaders. Many students commit suicide if they fail their high school exam, since it determines their role for the rest of their life. Depressing, huh?

That is ridiculous! Poor A! It is so unfair. It is great though that she seems to be doing so well inspite of the problems.

Lots of love and hugs for both of you. And a maybe a handkercheif soaked in fragrant water to wipe the frown off your brows. :)

love,
