Guns! OY! I forget what a difference there is between the US and Canada. Although according to "Bowling for Columbine" we have more guns per capita than you do. Of course so does Germany. I just don't think I ever see anyone openly wearing one here.

As for the horse, I had a great book when I was a young'en called The Horseman's Bible. Guess the title is a bit politically incorrect, but try to hunt it down. It had a lot of great horse advice. (not sure if this is the same one, but it probably is.. www.amazon.com/Horsemans-Bible-Jack-Coggins/dp/0385183437 )

Of course for fun, there were the "Jill" books from England ( www.amazon.co.uk/Jills-Gymkhana-Knight-Books-Ferguson/dp/0340041366 ) and, of course, the thelwell ponies. ( www.thelwell.org.uk/ ) As you can guess I rode English more than Western.

Happy holidays!

Glad you are feeling a bit better.
I am shocked about the gun. I am not anti gun, but I am definately anti gun when there are any children around or any public function for that matter unless you are law enforcement. It is just not right.
I was and am horse crazy. Had my first when I was 4, barrel racing at 9, trained my own pony and didn't have a clue what I was doing, but we survived. Was doing snaffle bit when I was in my teens and rodeos far into my 20s. But it all ended when I broke my neck in a helicopter accident in 2000. But I still love to pet them and love on them. I don't think you ever lose your love of horses.
Merry Christmas
