It’s Sunday morning–house is completely quiet. I’ve taken A. to the stables to help out with Special Olympics today and told her to stay away from her fav. cause he is just beside himself with the strange horses that have been brought in…looking very unstable. I would NOT want her in his stall today.
I had nothing after about 1:30pm yesterday; stayed full all day on shared Greek salad and pizza—really made a pig of myself but I suppose made up somewhat by not eating again. We ate this on the way to A.’s mowing job. She mowed, took a shower, and got dressed up for Itzyak Perlman, looked lovely, I must say!!! Her orchestra teacher was given 8 free tickets for herself and students. Last night was the first concert at our new city center for the performing arts and they certainly brought in a mega-star. I drove her there and we had a bit of a fight cause she thought I should just drop her off—not happening—parked in a garage and walked with her to the entrance to wait for others. Her teacher had an extra ticket (illness) and asked me if I wanted to attend!!!! There I was…..sneakers, white socks, blue jeans, striped (horizontally, of course!!!!!) ratty boys cotton pullover sweater—sorry, couldn’t pass on that one even if I was in my birthday suit!!! So, I attended with all the beautiful people in formal wear looking like the chimney sweep. Tried to make myself very, very small, lotsa luck….. BUT, I SAW him, I HEARD him, and I will NEVER forget it!!! The music was simply unbelievable!!!! Afterward we were each given a long-stemmed rose and saw a fireworks display outside to celebrate the opening. It was an unexpected and totally wonderful night! And the arts center stage and auditorium is just wonderful; fantastic sound. Yay for serendipitous happenings!!!!
Have my tomato plants in the kitchen since Friday; carried the pots in as it was SOOOOO windy from the storm off shore they couldn’t stay upright even with stakes pounded in all around the pots. People here are not pleased with me as they make the kitchen very difficult to cross. TOUGH!!! But I guess they can go back out now.
Ok.. bfsk none yet but planning (hang on to your hats, ladies) eggs and bacon— I am absolutely starving for a fried egg and I’m gonna go for it.
Just finished a book, not my usual murder and mayhem—Second Chances, Tales of Found Dogs—really, really sweet. Now I’m off to one more my usual style: David Baldacci: The Camel Club.
Ok–off to my fried eggs and newspaper….have good days for yourselves, chickadees!!!
