I added up my M-F milage on the treadmill; not too bad, not quite 3 miles a day. I had 2.50 today because I had to get over to aerobics; as it was I was a bit late, got lost in a book. Still aiming for a 5K a day.
Well, I didn’t get to bed early as planned to get caught up on sleep last night; my Cowboys were playing; great game and worth staying up for. Of course the staying up so late then getting up at the usual 5:30am meant a nap today so I’m gonnna be out of kilter again on the sleep cycle. Husb. had today off so after I picked up A. at 4:30 we all went out to dinner at a bar-b-que joint. Doing laundry now. Daughter banished to room as monthly mood swing has arrived w/ enough drama and attitude for a soap opera.
Food today. Bfsk: oatmealw/ skim, tea w/skim………..snack: a little leftover spagh………..snack: bean salad………….dinner out: pulled pork w/ hot sauce (brought about 1/3 home), 4 little hush puppies w/ a smidge of butter, baked beans, cole slaw
Is it just the places I eat or do others have any of these problems when eating out???
1. Appetizers that arrive with the meal or even after the main course is served. This irritates the hell out of me!!!!
2.The man gets showered w/ attention (conversation, drink refills, etc.) while you are almost totally ignored. If I’m paying, you better believe the tip reflects MY thoughts aboout being ignored!
3. Hand wait staff a twenty for a bill of 12 and change and hear, “Will you be wanting any change?” Damn right I want change!!!! Do I look like a bank?
All these seem to be happening more and more. Just wondering if this is happening elsewhere and how you handle it, other than not going back.
That’s all, chickadees; sleep tight!

Thank you for the warm welcome and support! You’re right about the “never finishing first OR last” idea… I think for the most part (though a lot of people don’t tend to realize it), we’re all pretty much on equal ground… we’re all human. A little competition sometimes is healthy, but not to the point where it consumes you.
A couple other things:
- CONGRATS on being so close to your goal, and all the treadmilling! I still haven’t been able to get into the whole walking/jogging thing, though I really do try! Maybe that’s why I’m “Thunda Thighs”, haha. I admire your dedication!
- Glad to see there are more Dallas fans out there. It was marvelous seeing the Boys whoop on Green Bay.

Ouch - that sounds like one hell of a bad experience. I have had a bad experience recently at the local Olive Garden, really bad service, taking ages to get the food - which was cold and fairly tasteless. Having to ask twice for a refill. It’s really annoying when you go there just to enjoy yourself.
The tippping culture needs to stop too - you feel obligated to give the full 20% but when the service is so bad, you don’t want to - ugh!

I’ve been boycotting chain places for about a year after too many crummy meals, terrible service and the place not being very clean. The food is a travesty.
Great going on the treadmill and general exercise!

Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my blog. Its people like you that have helped me to get somewhat back on the wagon.
Your doing great with your exercise. I really need to get back into working out. I was doing so good there for about 5 months.
As for eating out, yep. Those things happen to me alot. People are alot nicer to my DH than they are me. Then I tend to get ticked cause I know its cause he is so fit/handsome
There he sits with me (fat!). Im lucky, I know. lol

I think the comment on the change is the one I’ve seen the most in the US. This summer I got so annoyed with it that I took one dollar off the tip each time it happened and told the manager why I did it. I have no problem tipping for good service, but tipping for mediocre service = mediocre tip, and bad manners = bad tip, even if other things were fine.
I don’t know when the ‘norm’ changed to 20% but I think it’s the big chain restaurants putting the automatic calculated tip on there that does it. Normal tipping is 15%. I reserve 20% for great service, not average.

Just spent a horrible night at Logan’s Roadhouse (chain restuarant) Took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Waitress kept flirting with my hubby which really annoyed HIM. I ate way too many peanuts. (great calorie buster) Then when our food came out hubby’s was not there? Why ? manager came out to say they burned it. grrrrr. ANd of course at the end, “would you like your change?” sigh! You are not alone.
