The tale of the teeth
Well, my dau.’s 4 wisdom teeth may be gone but they are sure not forgotten; Surg. was Tues.am….after a good day Wednesday ( I actually remember thinking, “Gee, this might not be too bad”, HAH!!!!); pain got worse all day yesterday and this am (Fri.) she got me up at 4:30 just crying. Vicodin, nor Motrin 800 was helping and this kid is only 105lbs, so it seemed to me those dosages should be doing it. In to the oral surgeon today: good news—no sign of infection, bad news: the 2 lower have “dry socket” a very painful condition. So he pokes a strip of medicated gauze between the stitches into each of the tooth sockets and more gauze on top of that to absorb the renewed bleeding….she was in terrible pain and this just added to it!! Said she’d feel better in 3 hrs. and to come back again Monday. I removed the extra gauze when we got home and she did get numb enough to actually eat a bit of regular food early this afternoon but now she says it seems to be wearing off a bit…..keeping my fingers crossed for her…..she’s not a wimpy kid, in 2nd grade had a stress fracture of the tibia and actually ran around on it till a specialist finally spotted it on an x-ray–kept telling me it hurt so we just kept going back to drs.; she was casted for 4 weeks and had physical therapy follow up for 6 weeks. Had to have ear tubes at 4 and never complained; I think she had tylenol only once for pain after that procedure. SOOOO, when she is crying in pain, I know she’s hurting a lot.
Sighing, on to my food…hmmmmm, had no breakfast, came home from dentist and had Salisbury steak–Healthy Choice meal, 1 Skinny Cow fudge bar, and decaf tea w/skim, and a few calmata olives. Have a headache, not hungry but I suppose I should have something else before it gets too late-it’s about 7p now
Totally off topic (not that I usually have one in the first place)….go to google and type in: Sturgis biker jump deer The first time I played the movie I didn’t even see the deer but as it replays you see it; I heard about this on a morning radio station I sometimes listen to in the car and it’s rather bizarre. Catch y’all later….

When one of my babies is hurting, its hard to have a subject beyond that. Take care of the little one, I got dry sockets 20 years ago, and it still makes my tummy drop to hear about it. I think ice was the final solution, and the only thing that kept my face from swelling up and falling off. Tell her that she needs to sit quietly now and then and think of her story…because this is a story that she is going to get to tell over and over again to much gasping and astonishment among her aquaitences and friends. best dritta
