Good news for me is that it looks like Dean will take a southern track, not come up the coast. Sorry Texas, you sure don’t need any more rain this summer.
Went to cross country practice, took dog, had a nice wander–Betsy must have been getting some good smells, kept her nose down the whole time. I know basenjis are included in the hound group but she’s never been so ardent about tracking before. Talked to some nice people from N.J. vacationing here. The c.c. girls had decided to go for a swim after practice today. I led with my car cause the rest didn’t know how to get to the beach part of the park; apparently they also didn’t know about the parking fee to get in the water part either!! I am now a bit poorer; but it was hot and humid and they really did deserve a dip. Beach was almost empty. Found out the dog can swim; had her on a retractable leash and my dau. called her and the dog went swimming right out to her. Didn’t want to stay though!
Lunch was Panera @ 11:30am (request of my dau, playing up the oral surg. next week): I had chicken noodle soup and Greek salad–recently discovered that I love Greek salad, and baked Lays, came home and had a piece of banana bread.
Snack @ 5:00pm: 1 Skinny Cow fudge bar
Gotta go take her highness to violin lesson.

my dog is a SERIOUS swimmer - streams , rivers , puddles, anything will do …he reminds me of that 60’s film with Burt Lancaster , when he swims thru all the neighbours pools (?)
We are getting the dregs of some U.S weather over here - windy and rainy. Glad you’re missing out!

I remember that movie….it was actually called “The Swimmer” and it was based on a short story written by John Cheever…we discussed it forever in a group I once belonged to…….

I too am glued to the weather channel these days. Still too close to me to consider me safe however. Once this one passes, another will be on it’s tail. The down side to costal living in FL.
