bfsk: usual

snack @ 10:30am: f.f.cottage cheese and 12 cherries

dau. new h.s. called, apparently the old one has NO idea she’s moving on…..I would have been amazed if this went smoothly….

Sunday night

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

lunch @ Panera 1:30pm:  lo-fat chicken noodle soup and Greek salad, baked Lays chips, water

movie: Hairspray……no movie food….yeah!!!

5:30pm: 1  piece birthday cake—chocolate w/chocolate..prob. more than I should have… but the whole time we were singing to her and watching her blow the candles out, all I could think was that there probably won’t be too many more times just the 3 of us will be celebrating anything; actually this is one of the very few yrs. there wasn’t a party or a few friends around……it just goes way too fast!!!!

gotta go, I’m getting maudlin, sniff, sniff……

Birthday!!!!

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Today is my dau. 15th birthday….15 yrs. ago right now I was in a hosp. being induced, mad cause I was being induced, excited cause I was finally gonna see the little troublemaker (gestational diabetes, cardiac follow-thru, dermatology consult [at one point they thought I had melenoma], perinatologist consult), and determined to hold to my “no drug” rule, which I did.  She arrived @ 1:42pm on a Wednesday and it’s been a wild ride at times but I’m happy to say I’ve shed some of the drs.—the OB is now my gyn and I still have the cardiologist.

Anyway…..weight 125

Food–rest of yesterday……3 small handfuls of dry roasted peanuts and a plum

Bfsk: usual w/ a plum

Dau. wants to go to Panera later and I gotta go bake a cake!!!!

Hazy from Harry

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Let my dau. stay up and read her Harry Potter; she finished at 9:30am today and I chased her to bed…….I lasted till 3am so my day is off kilter in a big way, can’t tell you the last time I was up that late; but there was a time long, LONG ago when that would have been normal for moi……being in your 50’s with a teen-ager—believe me, I had NO idea!!!  Not complaining at all, just saying I had no idea. Thanks to the other Harry fans out there for comments.

Anyway, weight 125

bfsk: usual w/ a nectarine

main meal @ 3pm: 1/2 C. left over soup, 5 marinated mushrooms (now all gone, thank God), a frittata: 2 eggs and a third white, fresh basil, fresh tomatos, a little Mrs. Dash spicy, and Bits of Alpine Lace Swiss cheese on top—mmmmm, ate about 1/3…love these things cause they keep and reheat so well and you can add just about anything in them and vary spices any way you want.  1 piece dark milk chocolate, 10 cherries

I feel a nap coming on, Morpheus, here I come….he was the Greek god of sleep, son of Hypnos………his name lives on today: morphine, a pain reliever derived from opium—-trivia for the day…zzzzzz

Almost H.P. time

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Have to leave shortly to go stand in line w/ dau. to pick up her reserved copy of the last Harry Potter.  Have never done this before, but, as she pointed out, this is her Last Chance to be part of the madness that is Harry Potter!!……and, at almost 15, (it’s a birthday present, a few days early) there’s lots worse she could be into (that’s my thought)…..so off we’ll go….I even had a nap today for this and if I’m being honest, looking forward to it myself, after all good old Harry Potter taught her to read……I started reading her the first book, got her hooked and then handed it over to her…….and it worked!!!!  Special place in my heart for Harry!!!!

food:

lunch @ 2:00pm  salad, hamburger stroganoff—-made as healthy as I could

dinner@ 8pm–way too late, I know—greek salad, shared and 2 pieces pizza……not the best dinner, I know

Now to convince myself to stay awake a couple more hours, maybe I’ll start some laundry or something…..going up and down the stairs will walk off some of the pizza…..yawning and yawning….

My Five

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Ok, people have been blogging a list of 5 things they like about themselves, hard work but here goes:

1. My hair is almost grown out…I committed to stop coloring about a yr. and a half ago, had had a knee jerk reaction to the beginning of gray in my early 30’s and have been coloring for years…now I’m sorry I ever did it.

2.I don’t bite my nails anymore.  Actually, got rid of at least 3 bad habits.

3.I am a good cook and have learned tons about nutrition and USED it

4.I can do push-ups for the first time in my life…my upper arms look noticably smaller and I’m wearing sleeveless for the first time in years.

5.I am calmer, more content, get angry less, and happier than I’ve been in a long time!!!   Try that with a teen-ager!!!!  Maybe it’s the yoga???

Weight today: 125

Food:

bfsk: grape nuts flakes w/skim. decaf. tea, lo salt v-8..then to yoga then grocery store

snack: f.f. cottage cheese and 10 cherries

Thurs. am

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

wt:125–knew I’d pay for the Coldstone Creamry…actually my whole dinner was too much not so healthy choices when you get down to it.

Had an epiphany of sorts:  I reviewed my best advice list and realized it ALL could be boiled down to (drum roll, please!!!!):

       Eat and drink healthy

       Eat less

      Exercise

Of course there would be no money in just those 3 directives so we appoint and worship

self-help gurus who pontificate endlessly on those 3 points while emptying our wallets.  How sad we are when you get down to it.

OK so much for that…..it’s going to be hot, hot, hot here today…weather people are saying hottest of the yr. and going on ad nauseaum….well, duh! it’s mid-July…..one of these days has to be the hottest………anyway, I watered everything and scrubbed and re-filled the birdbath

I like to read others blogs when I have time….I have a few favorite people who blog fairly regularly………….and then there are the people who set one up and never come back…..I can’t help but wonder about them: are they so shy or did their nerve fail them?,  did they decide to wait until they gained more?, can they not find their way back here?, did something awful happen to them before they could blog anything?

In a strange mood today…no particular reason why….tea long finished, time for breakfast………….ta, ta to me

Tonight was the 2nd race of our club’s summer series…it was a relay, crowd was smaller ( about 150) due to thunderstorm about 1 hr. prior to start, few of us who were working huddled in a van and tried to work out of it when rain got down to a drizzle, then back to our table to finish up.  I did registration; then cleared off table again and served food….L-O-N-G day

G’nite!!!
