Day 8

November 26th, 2008 by socalchica

HI!  Well I am calling today Day 8 because I didn’t workout yesterday.  My husband surprised me with a kitten so he took up all of my time.  He’s adorable.  Today is officially my Day 8.  It was challenging because I had a little 10 week old kitten at my feet, and had to stop the video to get the little guy out of “high knees” danger, but just moved him and started the video right away (no more than 5-10 seconds).  It was challenging, but I was doing more of the advanced moves than on Day 7.  I certainly can feel a difference in my endurance even if I miss one day!

If anyone is going to begin this, I strongly suggest 3 pound weights.  I have 5 pounders and they are killing me.  By the end, my arms are shaking and the V crosses are almost impossible.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!  I am cooking the whole spread and I am going to: wake up, workout, shower, and get to cookin early. I am not skipping Turkey Day because of how much harder it seemed today after missing only 1 day.  Plus, I will feel better eating turkey, mashed taters, and pie, if I worked out in the morning. :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!  Until tomorrow!

Day 7

November 24th, 2008 by socalchica

Well I reached my mini-goal of getting to Level 2 by Day 7!  (toot, toot, my own horn!)  It was much harder than Level 1, but because I have been working out everyday, it didn’t kill me like my first day of Level 1.  I did advanced moves about 1/3 of  the time so that’s a bonus too!  Jillian is trying to kill me by doing SO many plank positions in this workout, but if I don’t die, I will probably be able to lift a car by the end. :) I am going to try and complete Level 2 through Sunday again and then onto Level 3 next Monday (giving me 16 days on Level 3).

It been challenging, but my husband mentioned that he can feel my body getting more toned last night, so that rocks.  I’m still not going to measure myself until Day 10.  I’m proud that I got through the weekend (with the added bonus of PMS) and can’t wait until tomorrow!!

Day 6

November 23rd, 2008 by socalchica

WOO HOO!  Day 6!  I am moving on up to Level 2 tomorrow.  It will be hard, but I’m totally ready.  Level 1 is getting too easy and I would like to be on Level 3 for much more than 10 days!

Until tomorrow!!!

Day 5

November 22nd, 2008 by socalchica

WOO HOO!! Day 5 is complete!!!  Just finished my 5th day.  I am PMSing hardcore, but kept up my motivation.  I definitely needed it, as I probably ate a piece too many of pizza last night, so it feels nice to work it off a little. :)  I always feel like after I workout, the stretching really helps my cramps!

Its definitely getting easier, day 6 tomorrow!  My arms don’t get sore like they did on Days 1-3.  They were really killing me and I had to put Icy/Hot on my arms just to workout on Day 4!  But, I’m clearly getting stronger as its still slightly challenging, but certainly not hurting, I just feel stronger.

WOO HOO!!!  I honestly can’t wait to workout tomorrow!

Day 4

November 21st, 2008 by socalchica

Okay, we’re through Day 4.  I feel great and Level 1 is clearly getting a whole lot easier.  My new Mini-Goal is to move on to Level 2 by Day 7 (or Monday if I get through the weekend, but getting closer to a new level should keep up my motivation!)

I haven’t really noticed any difference in my appearence, but again, its only Day 4.  My strength and stamina are clearly higher.  I am doing the advanced moves on almost all of Level 1.

Tomorrow is Saturday.  A friend is getting back into town toinght from being oversea’s for about 9 months so I will be going out tonight, but I am going to be watching my booze intake so it doesn’t screw up my weekend motivation (a hangover absolutely kills me for a day).

Until tomorrow!!!  WOO HOO!! Almost day 5!!!!

Day 3

November 20th, 2008 by socalchica

Well I finished day 3 today.  My arms are killing me and it took quite a bit of motivation to get me up and doing the workout, but I did it and it wasn’t that bad!!!  I am only going to measure myself every 10 days when I change levels.  I am going to take a picture today and then on Day 30 to see if I can see the results.  I will post both of those after I have completed the Shred.

I’m pumped, I have tons of energy and hope I can keep this up!  I think the weekends will be the hardest, but I am going to try and get up, and get the workout done as soon as I wake up (I might even sleep in my workout clothes, so there’s no excueses!)  I am also going to be riding my bike w/ my husband and take 1-2 mile walks with my friends a couple times a week.  Neither of these are high impact, just fun things I like to do, so I dont think it will impact the workout plan much.

Okay, until tomorrow!

(my arms are killing me!  I’m using 5 pound weights and its so hard, but I want super sexy arms, so it will be worth it!)

Day 1

November 18th, 2008 by socalchica

Hello world,  I am starting the 30 Day Shred today.  I just completed Level 1 (10:49am PST).  It wasn’t too hard, but I ride my bike, walk, etc so I am not completely out of shape.

My goal is not necessarily to lose a specific amount of weight, but change my lifestyle to allow me to be fit and healthy.  I am newly married and get a liiiiiittle too comfortable.  This is the heaviest I have ever been and am excited to get back into shape.

I don’t believe in scales, but will post inch results as they occur.  If you want to join me on this endeavor, please post!!!  Becoming fit will be the best Christmas gift ever!

I am not going to put down my daily weight, just measurements.  Here we go!

Waist: 32″ / Hips: 37″ / Bust: 39″ / Thighs: 23.5″ / Arms: 12″
