Hi there! Have you tried just watching your calories? Not a specific diet per-say. I know that everytime I tried a diet, I was always left really hungry in the evening, because I had used too many points or what-not. But I started using fitday.com to track my calories, and it really helped. You can eat whatever you want and still stay within the calorie range. It also helped me stay conscience about what I was sticking in my mouth, but let me to have whatever I wanted. Good Luck, no matter what you do!!! Stay positive!!

This seems a little strict, with way too much focus on food. The nutritionist I met with disliked Weight Watchers or anything that resembled it, and suggested I instead focus on *reflecting* at the end of each day on what went well and what I could improve on the next day food-wise. Her idea was to take the emphasis off the daily obsession. Is that something you think you would want to do? I mean, I feel like after all of our years of dieting we know a “good” day or a “bad” day when we see it, and we also know what we have to do to improve and we know when we’ve done the right things. Anyway, I just want this to be something I can do for the rest of my life, and reading your entry for today seemed too stressful for me to feel like it is something I could do day in and day out!

I like calorie counting plus reflection to help me come up with a routine that I can live with day after day. My problem with trying to figure out whether I had a good day or a bad day is that whenever I try to wing it without using a calorie counter (I use Calorie King, which I highly recommend), frequently I’ll think I had a wonderful day but it turns out I forgot a handful of nuts here or three crackers there, and inevitably I go over my calorie limit.
