Starting to feel more normal

Turns out I had a nasty virus.  Came on so suddenly, it was weird.  Lots of nausea, pounding headache, vomiting, and diahhrea.  Blech!!  Had to take off yesterday, and I’m just now starting to feel more normal this morning - not yet 100%, but I at least feel like I can do more than lay around and sleep.  Yayyy!

Upset stomache

I’ve been feeling fine all day then suddenly, my stomache starts acting up.  Sorta feels like nauseous gripping ache.  Whatever this is, it better not last!  This is only my third week on my new job that it took me 2 years to find, and I don’t want anything messing with my attendance.  Gotta take some tums, and hopefully, that’ll take care of it.

On the bright side of things, I’ve been doing well with my 2,000 calories.  I don’t feel deprived at all (aside from my usual cravings).  So far today, I’ve had scrambled eggs with lots of onion, peppers, asparagus, tomatoes and 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, 2 slices of bacon and 1 slice of toast.  I had planned on having tuna salad on flatbread with carrots and broccoli dipped in lite ranch dressing, but I fell asleep watching a movie with the kids, therefore missed lunch.

Woke up starving and had a HUGE cup of strawberry smoothie that was only 97 calories.  That took the edge off my hunger for an hour or so.  Now I’m cooking dinner of sauted spinach and minced garlic in EVOO with chopped tomatoes and onions and cornish hen.  Yummm!

First Day

Today is my first day on this journey to get fit and healthy.  I’m not exactly sure of what calorie level I should start at.  I don’t want to start myself so low that I feel deprived, but I don’t want to set it so high that I won’t lose weight.  So since I love to eat lots of food, I’m going to start out at 2,000 calories per day.  I’ll stick close to that for two weeks and see what kind of results I get.
