Good morning

Found this interview with my favorite ‘diet’ author, Linda Spangle: Emotional Eating: Overcoming the Urge

and an article by her: Focus on Thinking Differently to Lose Weight
I love her book, it’s the one that got me to stop emotional eating completely. It’s fab, I highly recommend.

Living like a thin person also means thinking about food and eating in a different way, says Hudnall. “Are you hungry or satisfied? Do you like a particular food or not?” she asks. “Those questions often don’t come into play with people who struggle with food issues.

This is so true! I used to eat ice-cream for years because it’s supposed to taste good and/or cool you down. It didn’t do either for me! So finally I was like ‘why the hell am I eating this stuff?! It doesn’t even taste that great’ So I haven’t had it much since, its been about 2 years now I think.

I do still have orange lollies, which I love, but no hardcore ice cream. :P Now this is not an all or nothing situation, I would still enjoy a scoop or two now and again but basically stopping thinking of this as a treat changed my desire to have it all the time. I buy single serves now in restaurants or vendors, and don’t buy gallon size buckets of the stuff. I did love Chunky Monkey from Ben and Jerry’s a LOT - but that name describes exactly how you end up after eating too much of it!

“Every step you take is a step away from where you used to be.” -Brian Chargualaf

“Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.” -Earl Nightingalle

  1. Love that quote by B. Chargualaf

  2. I used to have this tape series - totally of Earl Nightingale, but I sure don’t remember that quote. That is exactly the way I’ve been feeling lately. The time will go by anyway, so why not do the thing you want anyway?! I will have to check out those articles too - thanks for all the great info.
