Yoga day (and a rant worth reading)

Several workouts today…

I started with RaviAna Beginners and beyond around 5 pm - just wanted to relax and unwind. Followed that up with Yamuna Body Rolling for a while….did I tell you guys I got this kit? It’s awesome!! I feel like I’ve been massaged…well ya know, it’s not QUITE a massage but still feels great.

Then I did a 90 minute slow long deep yoga practice from Wade. It was fantastic. I am solidly blissfull. :)

Food has been good today.

Came across this tonight, and liked it: http://alwyncosgrove.blogspot.com/2007/01/alwyn-cosgrove-fat-loss-rant.html

You do not need something sweet to finish your meal. This is a conditioned response from your childhood days when cleaning your plate meant ice cream. ‘Need’ something sweet? Do you realize how much you just ate? You don’t need anything. Dessert is not a psychological need for survival. It is just a bad habit. Habits can be broken. You do not need the cheesecake.

This is so true, I really need to kick the dessert habit!

  1. I loved the article, thanks for the link. I am a big fan of people who tell it like it is and don’t sugar coat it. Steak with cheese is not diet food! We do get so many mixed up marketing messages thrown at us, and no one likes to hear the truth - eat less, move more, even though the fact that it is THE recipe for weight loss has never changed.

  2. I really needed to read that I don’t need dessert. That is a horrible habit that I just picked up in the last 7 years since I met the man who is now my husband. (And in that time I also gained 20 pounds…hmmm) He had grown up always having dessert and so we would always have dessert. Now I “need” something sweet after lunch and dinner! If I could just break that one habit, losing weight would be so much easier.
