Day 71
I’m feeling a little bit better. I stayed home today and laid flat in bed for most of the day. It gave me lots of time to think. I am still committed to losing the weight I first set as a goal. I am just not sure that counting anything is the path for me. I am going to take some time to look into some other options that are way less work, and lots more accurate and see where that takes me. I am maintaining my weight right now, so I know I’m not doing anything wrong by re-evaluating.Wify, Thanks so much for your comments. It was kind of you to take the time to share them with me. I am going solo for now, but will continue to post here in my blog. I have to find what works best for me. I have been trying to keep up w/ the Jones, and only getting more frustrated. It’s like a baby bird, I need to fly on my own.To all who have commented- every last one of you have made a lasting impression on me. I am thrilled for all of you who are seeing results from whatever way works best for you. I really mean that. It’s time for me to find an alternate plan. PHASE 2, I will call it. Most weight loss plans have different phases, mine will too. Sher, THANK YOU for your inspiring words. You are an awesome person.Jen, well, I know where you live. I’m so with you on the “not counting” things issue. I do not want to spend the rest of my life looking at every plate of food and wondering how many kjs, how much fat, how big is the serve, how many carbs etc etc etc. I just want to know that it’s going to taste good and be good for me.

As for finding our methods which work for each of us, let us not forget that there are basic rules, less calories in than out. Please stay posting with us, even if just to bounce off your ideas and vent your frustrations, and yes, don’t worry about even mentioning food. It all starts from within us, our core, the food is just manifest behavior which doesn’t change until we change inside.
I read a perfect comic the other day and it says it all (I am going to post it on my blog)… but Arlo says to Janis when she worries about his delicious savory Beef French dish he cooked many hours from fine ingredients, she says ‘looks fattening ” he retorts “You are not fat because you eat good food! You are fat because you eat Junk ! ” Doesn’t that just say it all right there?
Just remember, you are *above* par, and have already made excellent progress ! I’m anxious to read about Phase Two ~ Bring it on!
I’d like to reword that Basic Rule on losing weight. I tend to not like any word that is about deprivation… like ‘less food in, than out”. I’d like to reword the BasicRule to something gained, as in excess…abundance… as in “More calories out than consumed” Much better! It evokes wonderful athleticism!

You are doing great Sandy considering most people would have just stopped writing or given up - the fact that you keep on going is a testament to how much you really wanted to and did change from the way you were before to the present.
Only phase II? Dang, I’m on like phase 15! You know like the salad phase, the no coffee phase (which totally bombed by the way) the soup phase, the exercise phase (ouch). LOL. I wish you success and I only tentatively push you because I think more success is within your reach. I would hate for a bad week to bring you down.
And you should have really added, “Goodbye Scarecrow, I’ll miss you most of all!”

Sandy, the support is there when ever you may need it, just keep on keepin on and you will see the weight drop. the biggest and most important benefit is your health. so please stay with something, whether it be homeopathic or traditional, or just plain old nose to the grindstone. you are doing good and I want you to stay with that trend. read some of your old posts if ya don’t believe me

I like this Phase II idea! And like Wify said, we’ve all gone through phases, and the next one can only be better than the last, since you educate yourself constantly about the issue at hand. I’ve been on my “diet class” phase for a week or two now, and I’m about ready to give that one up. I just don’t feel like admitting that I’m “failing” my own class!! So, I may just go back to good ole blogging about what’s on my mind, and what progress I’m making. Maybe. I may give it a couple more weeks, though, and see if I can pull myself out of this slump.
I’ve been following you since the beginning, and I will be around as long as you keep posting!!
