Outside activity

6334036_043d34e5af-2.jpgGot out there and did some yard work today. The weather was sunny and in the low 40’s( I think).  We had the whole family out there cutting and hauling tree limbs. Then I raked up some of the leaves that had been under the tree.  All in all, great exercise, and fresh air. Cant wait for more days like that. We have so much yard work to be done.  I’m really looking forward to our first spring in this house. It sits on 4 acres, about 2 acres are open, the rest wooded. The owners had rented it out to a man who did little to maintain the property, so it’s a bit overgrown. In the spring we will have lots of cutting back and trimming. I want to plant a small vegetable garden, flowers in the front, and get the flower boxes done. I love to be outside doing that kind of thing.  We will have to find a nice spot to hang the hammock.  Yes, spring. Hopefully it’s just around the corner.

Day 27

Just a quick note to start the day. We are heading outside- taking down more tree branches. It is too nice a day to be inside. Did all the cleaning yesterday, so outdoors today. I’m feeling a little confused with my previous entry. If anyone can shed any light on the % of calories from each food group (carbs/proteins/fats). I know that there has to be a balance, but I’m sure it depends on activity levels. I always thought protein was the best thing to eat, cause it satiates hunger and it’s used to feed muscles. BUT, what if I’m not working out hard- And carbs, I always think of them as filler food.  How does our body use carbs? I know that I need to be eating good carbs, not bad( cake, cookies, Mc D fries) And fats.. we all need good fats in our diet. I would love to hear from you guys. If there is a website I can go to to find out more info, or if any of you have personal experiences. Love to hear em.Have a great day. I’m heading outside for some fresh air and exercise.

Stat’s Week 2

These numbers are from 1/27/08 thru 2/2/08. Average calories for the week, 1288/day*****Carbs/44%,  Protein/24%, Fat/32%.Calories compared to last week were only down a smidge( 28 cals/day)Carbs were fairly comparable, 44% this week vs 40% last week.  Protein was much lower, 33% last week vs 24% this week. Again, not sure how this impacts things. My fat was higher this week at 32%, compared to 26% last week.I am not sure tracking these numbers is very helpful. I am still trying to understand their significance and how they impact my calorie counting. I am assuming all calories are not created equal. A diet of 1300 calories of fat, vs what I’m eating, would have to make a for a different outcome. There has to be a science to this, per my body composition. I am on a quest to find out what works best.At the end of each post, I am going to incorporate a energy level rating. I have found many days last week, I was tired. Of course, I now don’t remember which days. I would think my food  choices may have something to do with it. Is it possible if lower protein, less energy? I just don’t know.Again, any suggestions or shared knowledge in this area is much appreciated. Body Fat %- 45%
