Day 24 and the last day of January

433076976_ede40c47b3_m1.jpgHow perfect to have my weigh in day of Feb 1st- I had set a mini goal to be under 200 lbs by Feb.1st, so we’ll see tomorrow.  My % yesterday were a lot different than the rest. My carbs were higher at 55% and my fats were really much lower at 16%. My protein stays consistent at 28%. I will post my averages on Sunday, but it was something I noticed this morning, and wanted to mention.  I am looking forward to tomorrow’s  weigh in, as I am quite certain I will have met my mini goal. I am going to plan on losing 10 LBS a month. That’s 2.5 a week, and I think it’s doable.  I will set my goals and “reward” tomorrow after weigh in. I really dont need anything right now. I have jean’s with stretch( regular waist band), so they are a little loose, but no need to replace them yet.  Maybe a piece of jewelry? My ring( I only wear one) is loose. I am noticing my hands are cold a lot more-  Not sure if that has anything to do with weight loss. Nice earrings. I think that will be my reward tomorrow.  I will have to think about a reward for Feb goals. What do you guys have in place for your next rewards?Have a great Day!

Hey, you could do a leek soup… and drop a pound overnight (water mostly). In the book I’m reading (still) called FrenchWomenDon’tGetFat, the author has a recipe for leek soup which is both delicious, very nutritious, and a good diuretic. She suggests a two day LeekSoup fast, but I think one day should work too, even if only the rest of today… Here’s the recipe:

Clean and slice the white and light green parts of 2 pounds of leeks. In a couple of quarts water, simmer for about 1/2 hour. Drink about a cup of broth every couple of hours, and eat the leeks when hungry (with a little olive oil and lemonjuice if you like, and pepper to taste). Voila.. I tried it, it works. I was peeing all day and several times in the night, and it showed ont he scale too.

I definitely get cold when I lose weight. Calories are the furnace to keep us warm. What to do ? Pull out all of your turtlenecks, gloves, warm fleecy sweaters and socks and battle the weightloss shivers with luxurius warm things to wear!

… and make pots of herb tea… clutching a warm cup of hot tea really warms the whole being as well as your cold (shrinking ;) ) fingers.

Hmmm…I think earrings will be a nice reward for you. But, you’ve reminded me that my feet have been cold lately! Maybe it IS related to losing weight! I think when I drink a lot of water, I’m colder than normal. I’m not a “cold-blooded” person, and I’m not usually one to compalin about being cold. But, lately, I have been. I think I’ll reward myself with a few pairs of warm soft furry socks to lay around in! :) I may just get me some of those today anyway! ;) I’ve decided not to buy any new clothes for myself for a couple of months. I know I’m just going to “shrink” out of them before I get to get my money’s worth out of them! :) I’ve got lots of old clothes that I’ve grown out of that I look farward to going through and putting back on! That will be a major reward in itself! I have a lot of nice dresses that I’d love to be able to wear again, too.
The leek soup: I’ve never had a leek in my life. What do they taste like??

    Sandy,
I think rewards are a good Idea, as you know I have said that I am going to get a Bike when I hit my total goal weight. as far as small rewards go for myself the reward of better health is enough for me at this time.

I think your goal of 2.5 lbs per week is very possible and a good number to shoot for. You’re doing great keep it up.

    As Ever
