WEEK 1 weigh in

I lost 4 lbs. YEAH for me! From 207 to 203. So for my reward , I just purchased(online) a pedometer. Not just any pedometer, a fancy, bells and whistles one. Will track everything, from steps, distance, calories burned. I’m so excited. I know I have a way to go, but what a nice surprise. My calorie counting has made a difference.  I now have the  additional motivation to exercise. So, Tuesdays will be my “Official” weigh in days. Once a week. I will refrain( lol) from hopping on the scale til Tues. mornings.  Thank you Botzz, Robyn, et al, you definitely have helped in this. Knowing I have such support, from kind people I dont even know,  touches my heart. Woooo hoooo!

Start of my second week- DAY 8

I have decided to revise my schedule and weigh in today. It’s been a week, and I cant stand not knowing.  Did I mention, I am one of the least patient people you’ll ever know. So, I will get back to you on my weight( loss, hopefully), and food choices in a bit. ———–9:34amTime to plan out the calories for the day. Still working on upping the protein, lowering the carbs and fats. Funny, because calorie wise, I’m doing great, but my pie chart that breaks down protein/carbs/fats has my attention.  Will keep on working the math- fine tuning. I certainly know it works.Re: calorie cycling- I spent most of yesterday researching it. Seems there are a few different ways to do it. Some change the calories daily, so the metabolism never nows what’s next. Others  go 3 days lower calories, then a high day, then 3 low. I think I like the first one. That was how my week ended up, unintentionally. 1040, 1438, 1275, 1295, 1301 which average around 1100 daily. Although I think my counts are off a little, so I would be comfortable  with an avg. of 1200-1300. I feel like I have room to be more detailed and accountable for the calories. For example, I havd a large salad, and didnt feel like entering all the ingredients, so I found a fairly comp. salad, and doubled it. See…. not so accurate. I will spend a little extra time from now on.My children seem to be a bit more health conscious. Especially my 17 & 14 yr old daughters. They enjoy eating healthy, and my son(8) will eat no matter what. So it’s really a nice feeling to know I’m improving others habits by improving my own. Also, I read in a Blog earlier about mindful eating. This is such a great point to reiterate. If we are grazers, or stress eaters, then MINDFUL eating is a necessity. I tend to be both, so taking a minute before I eat to really think about it, has helped me make some really good choices.Hope you all have a great day. I will be back later to fill in my food choices for the day. Thanks again to all who have shared their thoughts with me.  You’re the BEST!
