The Ups and Downs

Well, in the weight loss category, I’m doing pretty darn good. I feel better and have been keeping my daily calorie intake to 1200 or 1300 calories on average. I’m working out 4-5 days a week as well.  On Monday, I started working out with Jillian Michaels’ 30-Day Shred. Wow is it hard. I did well getting through it the first day, but started hitting a bit of a stump after that. Tuesday, I planned on working out again with Jillian, but had to cancel my workout all together due to a stomach thing. I was fine all day until about the last hour of work. So…. I did day two of the Shred last night and damn, I didn’t do very well at all. Not only was I tired, but my calves were killing me when it came to doing jacks and jump rope. Guess that means I am working on muscles that haven’t been worked out before, but owww!  Going to try to workout in the fitness center for 30 minutes tonight before popping in Jillian’s beating of a workout. :p

Life-wise, I’ve been feeling a bit depressed. Financially, things are tight. So, hoping that somehow improves… thankfully, physically things are good! Heh.

Life is crazy

So, since this week started, I’ve been busy, busy, busy. I have now started my PT job of demo work. Had “studying” to do for the little quizes, then a conference call (which apparently, was NOT required which annoys me that I called in now), and of course the visits. Did one last night when I was already exhausted from the 10 1/2 hour day at FT job, so the hour and a half seemed to drag a wee bit. Anyway, doing store number two this afternoon in between writing meetings so I can just relax and have a nice Sunday tomorrow.

Weight loss stuff… well, the scale wasn’t my favorite friend yesterday AM during my weekly weigh-in. It read that I only lost .6 pounds. Yes, it’s something, but I was hoping for at least a pound if not more. Gotta work harder this week somehow in between all the work insanity. The eating isn’t the problem, it’s working out enough. Going to make myself work out a couple times tomorrow I think.

3rd week doubts

So, I snuck in a quick weigh-in this morning to see how I was doing.  According to the scale, I’ve only gone down .2 pounds since Friday. To say I’m disappointed is a bit of an understatement. I’m eating 1200-1300 calories a day, and working out 3-4 days a week. Now, I know I could work out more, but am I hitting a plataeu already? I sure hope not.

Anyway, while I’m not pleased with what the reading this AM said, I’m going to keep moving and keep positive. I know I’ve changed a lot about how I eat and how I’m living, so this will all work out somehow.

Weigh in day!

Fridays are weigh-in day for me (well, the official one…I try not to weigh myself during the week, but sometimes I do),  I get up do my business in the bathroom and then jump on the scale. I weighed in at 191.8 this morning! Wooo! I have not seen this number in awhile. And, I really can’t wait to get into the 180s, especially to 180, which was the weight I was for the most part in college (not my goal, but sort of a mini one).  Yes, today thus far is a good day! :)

Day 11

Almost two weeks into my healthy journey and I’m starting to feel pretty good. Lots more work to do of course, but there’s something about giving your body “clean” food, especially lots of water that makes you feel good. I think the water part of things is a big one. I honestly have never really liked water, but I’m learning to appreciate and like it to some degree because it is so much better than anything else you could be guzzling. Yes, I’ve added some EmergenC to some of my water as well as some Crystal Light, but besides less than 8oz of coke zero in the morning (which I’m working to give up totally), that’s all I’ve been drinking all day. I feel pretty accomplished for this and will feel even more so when I get rid of soda 100% in the next week or so.

Working out… so, I popped in a Biggest Loser dvd last night and decided to do the Strength and Sculpting workout with Bob.  Overall, it wasn’t too bad until my thighs decided to tighten up and put me in a lot of pain that is. Got to work on those babies! I want to be able to get totally through the BL workouts again like I did earlier this year without horrible pain (there will be some, but you shouldn’t be in bad pain). Going to head to the fitness center tonight I think and give that treadmill another go. :)

Mid-week

So…. last night, I went to the fitness center to work out. I intended to work out for about 2 miles on the treadmill and then another 2-3 on the bike, but that didn’t all happen. When I arrived, the bikes were taken, so I got on a treadmill and got going. For the first time, I felt really unsteady as I walked. My balance was just not totally there for some reason. Did push myself to get 2 miles done, but that was the end of the workout. Really sucks too, because it wasn’t as intense as I wanted. I figure that I must have missed something in my diet yesterday to make me feel unbalanced and all. The only thing I can think of is that I forgot to take my vitamin, but there must be more to it than that. Very strange and not fun situation. Hoping my workout today is much better. I think I’m going to do a Biggest Loser video with some weight training. I’ll head back to the fitness center either Thursday or Friday evening, since I do like working out in there.

Greetings!

This blog is JUST for talk about my life change, ie: losing weight and getting healthy.

I’ve now been eating healthy and watching my calories for just over a week. The biggest difference I think with what I’m doing is that I’m drinking a lot of water. I’m drinking at least 60oz of H20 a day, trying to drink even more. I really think it’s helping me feel better and my skin even looks clearer!  The only downside to drinking water all day is that you will be running to the little girls room a heck of a lot. Ha. :)
