What positive steps for health have you taken?
Prepare to lose July 11th, 2008For a while now I’ve wanted to do several exercises related to mentally getting yourself into the “losing weight” mode. Although I’m doing pretty well right now, there is still room for improvement (especially in diet) and the next few weeks with vacations etc will be full of challenging situations, plus I’d like to get this off the “to-do” list. Upcoming days will have other exercises from this series.
What 5 positive steps for your health have you taken in the past month?
- Started exercising 2 weeks ago
- Re-started the vitamins consistently
- Various medical tests and doctors visits
- Kept doing multiple stress-managment things including reading, walking, and adequate sleep
- Watching what I eat (reducing sugar, white carbs, volumes)
- Eating lots of fruits and veggies
- New electric toothbrush (it’s fabulous!)
- Keeping up my blog
- Started doing the 100 pushups program (thanks, Josephine!)
- Cooking regularly from healthy recipes and cookbooks
- Planning my week with food, exercise and cooking
- Bought several pairs of cute comfortable shoes so that I can walk a bit between appointments when I get the opportunity
- Shopping on Sundays to stock up on healthy things
- Several hours spent prepping veggies and cooking for the week on Sunday
- Made extra efforts to walk at least 15 minutes if I didn’t make it to a “real” exercise session
- Standardized breakfasts (cold cereal or oatmeal or museli)

Hello,
I love the list. I plan on adding a few of those to my list of things to do.
What is Museli? I have seen it in the store and have no idea what it is other than being on the cereal isle.
Have a wonderful day.

Hey, sounds like you’re making lots of positive changes. I was reading an article the other day that claimed people who keep food journals lose twice as much as people who don’t. It wasn’t about online journals (you already know a small book will do the trick). I really do think it helps a lot, identifying problems and helping you solve them.
And enjoy your vacation.

Keep up the hard work and introspection Round.
