Weekly Weigh-In - Aug 24th, 2008

The Sunday to Sunday loss this week is 1.6lbs. I’m in the middle of TOM so it’s possible I’ll see a little more off tomorrow as well. The 9-week loss is 18.0lbs (2.00/week) which is usually the ‘number’ I look at to see how things are going overall. I’m actually considering dropping my calories slightly. When I crossed the 300 pound mark I was doing 2150/2400 in calories and was going to re-evaluate at 290. When I hit that point I decided everything was good so kept the levels up. I did the same at 280, however, with my activity level likely to change in September I think it might be a good time to consider it again. I’ll likely run another week at the same calorie levels and look at it as a change for September 1st. The other little compulsive number I look at is how many days I’ve been ‘on plan’ primarily with food. I still consider the maintenance week ‘on plan’ since I accomplished what I wanted to. So, since I started keeping track this is day 227 on plan with food.

Weekly Weigh-in - Aug 17th, 2008

The Sunday to Sunday loss this week is 1.8lbs. It’s been a truly up and down week as you see from the graph. The 9-week loss is 19.2lbs (2.13/week) which is usually the ‘number’ I look at to see how things are going overall. The other little compulsive number I look at is how many days I’ve been ‘on plan’ primarily with food. I still consider the maintenance week ‘on plan’ since I accomplished what I wanted to. So, since I started keeping track this is day 220 on plan with food.

Well, this morning is a cardio day and since we’re having company for dinner I thought I’d get an earlier start than normal. So, I’m off to do my walking around the pool!

Weekly Weigh-in - Aug 10th, 2008

So, again the Sunday to Sunday loss this week is 2.2lbs. This week I’ve had the last four days fall below the lowest weight I had last time so I suppose I’m now officially the lightest I’ve been in at least 15 years. It still seems a bit of a flaky trend with lots of jumps up and down. I know that some of it is water related though so I won’t worry about it too much. I think there’s a small voice that sometimes whispers that the upward jumps are going to keep going up, and that the jumps down aren’t real. The 9-week loss is 20lbs even (2.22/week) which is usually the ‘number’ I look at to see how things are going overall. The other little compulsive number I look at is how many days I’ve been ‘on plan’ primarily with food. I still consider the maintenance week ‘on plan’ since I accomplished what I wanted to. So, since I started keeping track this is day 213 on plan with food.

Now I’m trying to remind myself that it’s a cardio day. I set my calories for a rest day last night but I really should do some cardio. I originally had decided I would do it in the pool as my heel is still bothering me. However, it’s way too cold to do an hour in the pool (again, big tough Canadian, eh) so I should try the treadmill. The worst thing that can happen is my heel starts to bother me and I stop. I could have an extra egg… and toast with my lunch. Of course I’m not even hungry for my morning snack at the moment so this isn’t much of a motivator.

Weekly Weigh-in - Aug 3rd, 2008

So, the Sunday to Sunday loss this week is 2.2lbs. I don’t know if it’s the rapid weight loss from a couple of weeks ago but the trend chart seems bumpier than normal. Although it’s probably because I’m comparing it to that week where it just seemed to drop every day. The 9-week loss is 18.8lbs even (2.09/week) which is usually the ‘number’ I look at to see how things are going overall. The other little compulsive number I look at is how many days I’ve been ‘on plan’ primarily with food. I still consider the maintenance week ‘on plan’ since I accomplished what I wanted to. So, since I started keeping track this is day 206 on plan with food.

Weekly Weigh-in - July 27th, 2008

Okay, trying for some consistency between the blog and the log so I’ve settled on a 9-week chart that I can post on both. Normally I post the default 9-week one from FitDay, but I kind of like the idea of circling the Sunday weights so I’ll do that (until I get bored with it I suppose). So I’m combining the post I usually make on my blog Sunday mornings with the chart I ended up doing for the log a couple of weeks ago.

I don’t know where the almost 2-lb gain came from on Saturday morning (water obviously), but some of it is off today (but not all). So, Sunday to Sunday loss this week is 1.4lbs. I’m okay with that as the 9-week loss is 19lbs even (2.11/week) which is usually the ‘number’ I look at to see how things are going overall. The other little compulsive number I look at is how many days I’ve been ‘on plan’ primarily with food. I still consider the maintenance week ‘on plan’ since I accomplished what I wanted to. So, since I started keeping track this is day 199 on plan with food.

Weekly Weigh-in - July 20th, 2008

Today’s weigh-in brings me to 286.6 which is 5.4 pounds less than last week. It’s actually too high a change for me to trust. I suspect some of it is water weight as it came off very quickly so who knows what the next week will bring. Even accounting for the 1.2lb gain from the week before this is still a greater than 4lb loss, something I haven’t had since I started. I feel like crossing my fingers to see if it holds. Anyway, since I started keeping track this is day 192 on plan with food.

Weekly Weigh-in - July 13th, 2008

Today’s weigh-in brings me to 292.0 which is 1.2 pounds more than last week. The odd thing is that I’m not concerned in the least. The rest/maintenance week went well and I’m still down a pound from last Saturday. Sundays I tend to weigh lower because I usually sleep in. Last Sunday’s weight dropped a lot from the day before which may mean it was abnormally low. The only real jump last week was Monday’s weigh-in. The rest of the week held pretty much steady. I’ve put in a chart with the last three weeks so you can see that a jump on Monday is the usual, not the exception. So now I’m back to my usual calorie levels and working out, so we’ll see how that goes. Anyway, since I started keeping track this is day 185 on plan with food.

Weekly Weigh-in - July 7th, 2008

Today’s weigh-in brings me to 290.8 which is 2.0 pounds less than last week. I’ve been retaining water all week. Since we’re definitely not at time of the month water gain the only thing I can figure is the hot weather is affecting me. I think this happened last time we went hot and humid (sad that it’s only the second time this summer). So yesterday I made a point to drink more water and this morning I’m down 2.2 pounds from yesterday. Yes, I said since yesterday. It is strange but in the end the only way to try and get rid of retained water is to drink more. Weird, isn’t it? Anyway, since I started keeping track this is day 178 on plan with food.

Weekly Weigh-in - June 29th, 2008

Today’s weigh-in brings me to 292.8 which is 2.6 pounds less than last week.  I’m counting yesterday as on plan even though I didn’t hit my protein number.  I don’t do cheat days as some people do, so we’ll consider the protein percentage being low as my cheat.  I was still within the calorie numbers.  Anyway, since I started keeping track this is day 171 on plan with food.

Weekly Weigh-in - June 22nd, 2008

Today’s weigh-in brings me to 295.4 which is 2.8 pounds less than last week.  I’m quite happy with that, although I still don’t get why some weeks are higher and some weeks are lower, especially now that I’ve pretty much standardized what I’m doing.  Anyway, since I started keeping track this is day 164 on plan with food.
