Today’s Totals - Aug 15th, 2008
Today was a great day. I slept in a little (on purpose) and after breakfast spent maybe 3 hours outside. I plugged the iPod into the laptop speakers and enjoyed the day. Okay, I also trimmed all the pots on the patio and did some watering at the same time. I also took a couple of breaks to watch little one (Shadow) scaring the crap out of squirrels. It’s really quite funny to watch a cat that’s afraid of pretty much everything go chasing down the yard after a squirrel. And when it gets away from him and chatters he doesn’t back off.
So, finished up about 1pm, had lunch on the patio, and finally coloured my hair. In theory I really need to do it every 4 weeks (I used to pay someone to do it every 3-1/2 weeks back when I had cash to spare). The reality is that I put it off as long as I can because I hate doing it. This should have been done at the 1st of the month.
Ran a few errands once my hair was semi-dry, had a swim, then it was pretty much dinner time. Yes, everything was fine until about 9pm. I remembered that I hadn’t taken the pork out for tomorrow, or made the sorbet either. Neither takes a lot of work but it just seemed that everything went wrong. The bag the pork was going to marinate in leaked… balsamic vinegar everywhere. I put the spoon down on the edge of the container with the sorbet mix in it when I went to get the yogurt. Yep, it had slid into the container by the time I got back. And while emptying the ice trays to make more there were at least a couple that ended up on the floor.
I think it’s time to call it a day.
I should do laundry but the way my luck is running I think I’ll wait until the morning!

Total: 2150 (32% fat, 34% carbs, 33% protein)
Breakfast: two fried eggs, chocolate pecan bread, jam, peach (386)
AM Snack: blueberry bran muffins (198)

I haven’t quite decided on that last item. Originally I was thinking protein shake which would bring me to 2149 with 35% protein. However, it’s a high enough protein day that I could have the cake (two pieces) and end up with 2150 (31% protein). Since I can’t decide I’ll split the difference. How cool is that though - cake that worked out to 91 cals, with 9g of protein. I might try adding a little fiber to it next time though. At this time of night it’s not such a big deal though.
