Today’s Totals - Aug 4th, 2008

Another lovely day. I still didn’t get as much done in the garden as I would have liked, but I’m never sure that you ever do. With the buckets of rain that we’ve had lately and the warm weather the pots are just taking a beating. And yet, some of them are gorgeous. The little garden patch down the side of the garage is doing, um… well.

Even More Pots After

I really should go back and take a picture when the sun shows it better, however, if you look in the back of the first picture you’ll see the black pot with the vine growing at the base. In the second picture I had to move the pot as the zucchini was taking over. :)

Food for the day:

Total: 2165 (31% fat, 33% carbs, 35% protein)

What happened to the cat? Did the zucchini get him?

Looks that way, doesn’t it? And really, it’s the junk corner of the yard where we usually store stuff we don’t have room for. The side garden has grown so well that it covers it all. :)

Wow, whats your secret for your container garden? My container garden didn’t get nearly as big as yours.
    Any tips would be great!

I don’t know why things grew so well this year. It wasn’t even a warm summer really. The bed up the side had lots of additions in it (black soil and such). Other than that, just plenty of water and some fertilizer every couple of weeks.
