Today’s Totals - July 13th, 2008

Anyway, so except for the occasional pangs of hunger, not a bad day. :)

The only truly negative thing is that I was freakin’ hungry today. I suspect it has more to do with a dinner that was too high in calories for what I’m eating (38% of intake). It meant that during the day not only was I cutting back from the levels I’ve been at the last 7 days, but that I had to save calories for dinner. Seems like it’s now corn season in Ontario and my mother brought some home from the market. I’m actually considering switching around my exercise days to not get stuck again. I really really like the corn and it’s only here until September. So I’m going to do cardio on Sunday so I can push up the calorie levels. So it will be lifting Mon/Wed/Fri and cardio Thu/Sun… leaving Tue/Sat as the two rest/lower calorie days.

I can’t think of what I really did today though. I think the late start to the day (didn’t roll out of bed until well after 10am) made it kind of fly by. So I tied up a few plants, trimmed a few plants, watered a fair bit, and got about halfway through an audiobook. Swam in the afternoon and then made dinner. All very boring really. I was going to get my log sheets ready for tomorrow, but I’ll do that in the morning. I’ve got company on the desk (Shadow), although at the moment he’s being very quiet. However, he’s right where I want to put the book. I thought about shifting him but I suspect he’d just come back and lay on top of the book.

Food for the day:

Total: 2167 (29% fat, 36% carbs, 34% protein)

Breakfast: lemon ginger pecan bread, jam, grapefruit (215)
AM Snack: protein shake (135)
Lunch: chicken bacon, two fried eggs, cracked wheat oatmeal bread (433)
PM Snack: apricots, blackberries, soy nuts (237)
Dinner: sirloin steak, corn, butter, salad w/dressing (804)
Late Snack: cherries, protein shake (343)

Oh, yes! That fresh corn and homegrown tomatoes and melons! Makes the heat and humidity all worth it! I’m home now and although I can’t grow any of those goodies because of the dense shade in my yard, I’m heading for the produce stands!

Our cherry tomatoes are starting to show colour. And this morning one of the grape tomatoes is starting to turn. I suspect in a couple of weeks we’ll be drowning in little tomatoes… and zucchini!
