Today’s Totals - July 11th, 2008
(For those not following along, or visiting for the first time, please note that this is an attempt at a maintenance week. The theory is to let the body reset hormonal levels before putting it back into a deficit. The calorie levels are specifically not weight loss ones.)
I am so tired, and I really didn’t do anything today. It’s interesting though that I do notice a huge difference on the nights I don’t sleep well. It’s been pretty good lately but last night I was still up at 3am. I was planning to run errands this morning but at 8am I was quite tempted to blow them off. There was a huge amount of thunder at the time so I got up. In other words I couldn’t get back to sleep.
The morning started off with pouring rain but did eventually clear up although I wouldn’t call it a good day. I took a look around the garden when I got back but nothing really needed water and I just plain wasn’t in the mood to prune the tree that needs to be done. So, I grabbed the book I started yesterday and just sat on the patio and read for a while. It was nice enough that I stayed outside over lunch and while I was waiting for the bread I made to rise (more cracked wheat oatmeal bread).
See, a really boring, low energy day. And the sun barely came out, however, it was nice enough for a swim later on. My meals are planned for tomorrow so now I’m off to see if I can catch up on my sleep. I think we’ll go for no alarm tomorrow!
Food for the day:
Total: 3039 (31% fat, 39% carbs, 26% protein)
Breakfast: chicken bacon, scrambled eggs/egg whites, chocolate pecan bread, jam, grapefruit (629)
AM Snack: almonds, protein shake (299)
Lunch: turkey sausage sauce with whole wheat pasta, apple (554)
PM Snack: pisco sour, soy nuts, cherries (347)
Dinner: hamburgers(2), roll(1), condiments, salad w/dressing (867)
Late Snack: cherries, protein shake (343)

Yes I agree with your theory on this. I do the same thing. I will alter for a few days how I exercise and how I eat in order to throw my body off enough to re-start the weight loss. I usually up my protein and lower my white carbs and eat a ton of raw veggies. I just do different exercise than my normal and it usually works although it can take a week or two. sigh I am not a patient person, LOL
Have a wonderful day and keep up the good work!

It will be interesting. It hasn’t really affected my weight this week. I am up slightly but some of that was almost immediately and could be because last Sunday’s weight was lower than it should have been. The most interesting part of the experiment I suppose will come over the next few weeks.
I did this before I hit a plateau (which made it more interesting… or slightly insane).
