Today’s Totals - July 8th, 2008
(For those not following along, or visiting for the first time, please note that this is an attempt at a maintenance week. The theory is to let the body reset hormonal levels before putting it back into a deficit. The calorie levels are specifically not weight loss ones.)
I’m kind of getting into the rest mode. I did a ton of errands this morning. Decided at some point that I wasn’t getting home for my snack so I bought… sour wine gums. I could have waited until I got home but I just chose not to. The plan was to eat some of them, maybe saving some for later. No, didn’t happen. It wasn’t a big deal as I knew what I would change around (even though I didn’t really need to).
After lunch I rolled the pool blanket up, stored it in the shade, and did a combination of watering and swimming. Basically I would water until it was too damn hot, then swim in the pool for a bit. This pretty much took the rest of the afternoon, including once again, drinks on the patio. Dinner was the lamb spareribs, which were okay, but I wouldn’t buy again. I didn’t buy them specifically as they came with a half lamb that we bought in the spring. They were just too fatty. I boiled them first and then barbecued them. Brushed some with homemade mint sauce (for my mother) and some with bbq sauce (for me). The problem came was when trying to eat them. You couldn’t just pick them up and eat them which is a shame for ribs. You had to separate the meat from the layers of fat to eat them. Oh well, the good thing is that there aren’t any more of them.
Then I looked at the weather forecast for this evening and decided to pick the cherries (see previous post). Now I’m just finishing up some tasks before I head off to bed. I think we’ll likely go out to dinner tomorrow to use up a gift card we’ve had for a couple of months. I looked at the menu and have estimated what I’ll have but if I decide to change my mind tomorrow night so be it.
