Since I wrote about my struggle with the eggs earlier I don’t know that I have anything else to add.  It feels cold here tonight, but I suspect it’s only dampness from the rain today.  So, tomorrow I’m back to workout A (and my least favourite prone jackknife exercise).  The rest I’m looking forward to.

feathers - I don’t know why certain things appeal to us more than others.  I’m not really a chocolate person, but when I think about it, the other chocolate I like is a soft caramel type that the local bulk place sells.  I think that’s pretty much it in the chocolate line.  Don’t get me wrong, if someone puts them in front of me I’ll eat them.  :)

Becky -  I left you a comment on what I think is your blog, but just in case…

I usually mix two different protein powders together as I haven’t really found a flavour I like. The chocolate ones are just too chocolaty for me (I never really was a chocolate fan), and the fruit ones just don’t taste right. So at the moment I’m using Webber Naturals - European Whey (Chocolate), which I buy at Costco. I mix it with and Iso-Pro cooler (from a company called Precision Sports Supplements) in either Peach Mango or a Berry Blend they have.

The actual whey powder isn’t important, but the contents are. For me I’m looking for low fat, low carb, high protein. Other people look for more balance (ie. a little more fat and carbs) and use them as a total meal supplement.

And to answer your question, yes, sometimes I have a hard time eating to the calorie goals I’ve set. Looking back to the first time I lost weight I would eat pretty much anything (junk included) as long as it was within my calorie limit. And I still lost weight. For whatever reason though, I couldn’t keep it off. I think this time will be better as I’m finding a new way to eat that I can maintain. I like the foods that I eat so it’s not like I’m waiting until the end so I can eat what I really want. )

Feeling Deprived

Okay, I don’t really feel deprived.  Well, okay, just a little.  I was in the drug store this afternoon and walked by the display of Easter eggs.  You know the ones…. Cadbury’s Easter Creme Eggs.  I picked up a box of three, flipped it over to see the calorie count.

180 calories

I put them down.  Then I saw the little bag of mini creme eggs.  I thought okay, maybe a couple of those would be good.  So I looked at the calories on those.

210 calories (for 4)

I decided I didn’t want them badly enough to work them in.  If I hadn’t decided to eat more protein I might have bought them as I could work them into the calories for the day without worrying about the sugar.  I also decided that I’d eaten far too many of them over the years, that I could do without them this year.  And once one year, maybe two.  It’s really been two since we were out of the country last year at Easter.  You know, I’m not even sure when Easter was last year.  April 8th, and I checked, we were in Qingdao, China.  Just an odd fact - that will be the site of the sailing for the Summer Olympics.  That’s not why we were there, but it was interesting to see all of the building going on for the Olympics.
