It’s official now, I have acceptances to all of the colleges/programs I applied to. I’m going to take a little time (I have until May 1st) and make my choice, although I’m pretty sure it will be Mechanical Engineering Technology at Mohawk College. Partly because it’s close, but also because once I’m finished I can work nights towards turning it into a degree (masochist that I am). Now I have to consider finding some work until the fall. Up until now I’ve avoided temp agencies because I didn’t want to be doing paperwork while looking for a job. I still find that a lot of women in the quality field do more of the paperwork jobs than the plant floor jobs. I prefer the in plant work, so I didn’t want to show current general office work while looking. Of course, now that I’m officially not looking, this isn’t an excuse I can use anymore. If I was a little further along with my weight loss I’d probably try an industrial temp job, but I’m not sure that I could physically handle it at the moment. It’s probably something I might try for next summer, which is technically a vacation time. The co-op work terms don’t start until after the second year.
I’m going to go over my finances and see if I can figure out a way of not working until going back to school. I’m just so on track with the food and exercise I’m almost afraid to mess with it at the moment. I know I couldn’t do 90 - 120 mins of exercise at the end of the day. The only way I do it now is to break it up. If I end up in a desk job with little activity I’m really concerned that I’ll slip into the bad habit of coming home too tired to exercise at the end of the day. Oh well, I’ll worry about that in the next couple of days. Tonight I need some sleep, as I didn’t sleep well last night.
