Saturday, Feb. 16
So far today I’ve had:
Breakfast: Wheaties (200) milk (120) banana (50) total - 380
Lunch: Tilapia fillet (120) spaghetti (260) total - 380
Last night’s “after hours” eating…. Ugh. Parmesan cheese - at least I took the time to measure what I was consuming… (460) :-( and I went whole hog with the popcorn that the family requested…Ugh again. popcorn (300?) butter (200) oil for popping (200?) And yes, I know about hot air poppers, I just can’t stand the taste of popcorn made that way.
Friday, Feb. 15
Well, I was going to write what I’d had yesterday…so, if I can remember…..
Um, Breakfast: 2 bananas
Lunch: Tilapia, Spinach/Brown Rice Casserole
Afternoon/Evening Rampage: leftover mini-ham and cheese sandwiches, that pink icing + another cupcake (not worth it) homemade mini-rolls with butter (worth it!)
And then I didn’t eat supper.
I weighed today and my weight was the same - 207.6 as last week. I was a little disappointed but glad that it didn’t go up! And now I’m more determined to watch it closer this week, MEASURE and count the calories ( why am I soooooo lazy when it comes to this???)
What I’ve had today:
Breakfast: 1 banana
Lunch: PB sandwich (2 whole wheat bread, 2 T. natural peanut butter) 1 Pacific Rose apple (tremendous!!! sweet, fresh, crisp, not too starchy tasting) I will def. buy them again.
Dinner: 2 slices Pogo’s Pizza - ok, not sure on the calories, it was thin crust, but a pretty large pizza, um……maybe safe to guess 350 a slice? Probably not even that much but better to play it safe.
And now it’s 8:15, I’m hungry….thinking of making popcorn to have while hubby and I watch Monk…..I should probably make some vegetables though. I have some zucchini in the fridge……. yes, I’ll report.
In other news……I’ve been thinking about doing some writing again. Something happened to me today - I cried just a little and then it came to me how I could use it in a story….it could play out really good….but I don’t know if it would be believable in the genre I’ve chosen to write in….sigh….. after getting reviews that say how I’ve kept everyone in character I’d hate to write something that strays from that. Personally, I think if a person chooses to write fanfics, they need to try to keep the characters as true to the original persona as they possibly can. After all, the way they were originally is what drew their fans in the first place, right? …….sigh….well, I WISH I had the TIME to just sit and write….probably won’t happen. Usually, if the bug bites me, I have to just carry a notebook and pen around and write when I get a few minutes - I remember two years ago, on our anniversary, it was late at night and I could not get to sleep. Robert was asleep…I got up and got my notebook and sat in the light coming from the bathroom door and wrote some of the best stuff I’ve come up with yet - I gave it the title “A Christmas to Remember.” That was in the summer of 2006 - I thought I might upload it that Christmas, but I still haven’t published it, and it’s nowhere near finished either! And some of the stuff I had scratched out on the odd stray piece of copy paper got tea spilled on it…and it was some good stuff!!! I wish I could remember it all but I’ve got to add what I can remember to my notes…maybe I can work it in to ” A Christmas…” somewhere.
Thursday, Feb. 14
Well, today I started out doing great, hit a major speed bump that began at the Kindergarten Valentine’s party - Joyce asked if I could eat the icing off of her cupcake…what else is a good mother supposed to do?? It was pink…and deliscious. No, I can’t explain why a 5 yr. old didn’t want the frosting….still puzzling over that one, but whatever. She said she just liked the cake part.
oops! I gotta go…children calling. Will try to update what I ate today - tomorrow.
Tuesday night 2/12/08
Magnus and Stephanie… I went to fanfiction.net today and lo and behold I had one review there that I had not read before! It was from LoveThyConan, and it said “this is really well-written and believable, you’ve got the emotions just right!” Aaahhh…bliss. It is so good to finally have shared a story and get good reviews!!! Two people said I really kept the characters IN character! That is the best review anyone could give me! “So …Magnus, if you happen to read this, and you want to make some new LZT episodes, I’m available as a writer!!!”
and…..for what I’ve eaten today:
2 Tilapia fillets
2 tacos
(I’ve had a hell of a toothache)
Monday Morning Musings……
We are covered in ice here….and I’m having an icy Grapefruit Smoothie for breakfast. It’s deliscious!!! (1 grapefruit, 1 pkt. Stevia, water and ice - blend)
Yesterday I was reading how the “Mediterranean Diet” is the healthiest diet for your heart. I think I could live with that, it sounds pretty tasty!
Well, I guess I really don’t have much to say this morning….I am actually feeling kind of “blah”. I noticed I was kind of impatient and quick tempered yesterday…more PMS?
I was going to go grocery shopping this morning, but we’re iced in, so I’ll have to survey the larder and make do with what we have. I think there are some chicken wings and breasts in the freezer - I’ll probably make chicken with brown rice for dinner tonight.
Food Journal for Sunday, Feb. 10
Breakfast: 1/2 cup Kashi Shredded Wheat, a couple of muffins at the church breakfast (From now on…be wary…be VERY wary, of sweet little old ladies bearing (sugar-free) baked goods) With respect, that’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Dinner: Leftover Salad, Steamed Broccoli, (with Olive Oil, Sesame Oil, and Lemon) Chicken Breast (cooked with Olive Oil) 2 slices leftover pizza (cheese and Anchovy)

Had somewhat more control today….which is good! ![]()
I Think it’s PMS!
“Gordon, did you know that P-M-S stands for Potential Murder Suspect?”
Well, it took me a bit, but I finally realized these out-of-control cravings and ravenous hunger are just a part of my regular rendezvous with PMS…..dammit! I HATE this!!!!
So, I guess all I can do (whilst trying to fight it of course) is track it and see how long it lasts this time.) It started yesterday afternoon - Friday, Feb. 8
