swing, swing, swing around

Got my hair cut and freshly highlighted today.  I’m swinging it around.  I can only do this when my hair has been blow dried straight.  :)

Food and exercise were OP today.  Didn’t go to the gym but worked in a quick 30 day shred video.  Looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.  Was up early today.  That’s about it for today.  Nothing too wonderful!

vacation (day 1)

I’m so giddy to be off work, it’s insane.  I just really love waking up knowing that I don’t have to sit in an office bored all day.

I slept in a little bit today.  Got up at ten, had breakfast, and got ready for the gym.  Started with 35 min of cardio on the treadmill.  Wasn’t happy with only 148 cal burned but I didn’t really run or anything.  I did really fast walking.  I must admit, I was a bit pooped.  The mind was definitely pushing harder than the body was willing to put in.  Nevertheless, I finished the cardio and worked on lower body weights.

Stopped at the grocery store for some fresh veggies and a few things for the next couple of meals. Spent the afternoon at the pool with the family soaking up some rays.  I love summertime.  Came home and started preparing dinner.  Dinner was broiled salmon w/ rosemary, baked sweet potato, and some steamed green beans.  I got my full 8 c of water in today.  While dinner was preparing, I managed to do the Jillian 30-day shred video.  I’m starting back on day 1 as I haven’t done it in a really long time.  I want to feel like level 1 is easy before I move on to level 2.  DH and DD did the DVD with me.  LOL.

Well, I better get to cleaning up the dinner dishes, come back here and read some entries.

not good…not good at all

Today was a total bomb for food. A total bomb. We did go downtown and had a lovely 2 hr walk. We checked out some shops and especially enjoyed going into Lush. We decided to get a hot dog from a street vendor. Not so bad. I figured my 2 hr walk would surely counter the calories in the hot dog. Later in the evening, DH decides he wants pizza for dinner. I thought I could handle and resist it. Thought being the operative word here. I had 4 slices of a medium pizza plus a can of Pepsi. To top it off, I had a mini bag of Doritos. Why? Why? I suck.  Goddess my arse.

cleaning and laundry…the agenda for the day

So today was a pretty good day. I slept in a bit but not too much. I got up, had breakfast and started cleaning. That was pretty much my whole day. I’m pooped. Cleaning and laundry with no breaks in between. I couldn’t get to the gym. DH worked overtime and by the time he left work, the gym was already closed. I will try and get there tomorrow. I was planning on doing the 30 day shred but I really am just too tired. I think I’m going to take a shower and read a little bit before bedtime.

Another good day under my belt

Today was a pretty good day overall.  I’m on a good streak so I decided to reward myself with a small DQ Reece’s Pieces Blizzard.  It still fit into my calorie range for the day due to my getting up at almost noon and having a late breakfast.  I didn’t have lunch and therefore, had room for the treat.  Much of the same pattern yesterday.  Had a late breakfast and lunch so I didn’t have a proper dinner.  Just some pineapple.  That’s okay though because at no point was I hungry.

Got some sun time in today and am already developing a tan.  I’m not much of a sun worshiper but every summer I allow myself some sun for some healthy colour.  Sun is a good source of vitamin D and we all need a little bit.  The kids splashed about in the pool until the pool was cleared because of a “fouling”.  Someone’s tampon fell out!  Gross, I know but imagine the embarrassment.

Well, tomorrow is back to work so I’m getting ready for bed soon. I have to get the kids cleaned up as well.  Tomorrow will be their first day in a two-week day camp gymnastics program.

Will write a better post tomorrow outlining my weekend adventures!

can i be any more sore?

Yes, it hurts to sit down, stand up and walk.  Thanks to the cardio kick box class I had last night.  Nevertheless, I went to the gym today anyway.  I only did 65 min of treadmill.  Combo of running and walking.  Just couldn’t muster up the strength to do weights.  I will be going in tomorrow again for some cardio and weights.  Maybe yoga.  We’ll see.  Depends if I can get my arse out of bed early enough.  Probably not.  I’m usually dead tired in the morning.

Last night’s sleep was…surprise, surprise…crappy.  The cat knocked a cup off the desk at 12:40 a.m.  So I had to come down to see what the noise was.  Then around 4:30-5:00 a.m. a thunderstorm rolled in.  The dog made her way upstairs (which she knows she is not allowed).  I allowed her to stay at my bedside because she gets so scared and agitated.  Once the thunder settled down a bit, she decided to walk around upstairs and wake up DD.  I had to shoosh her back downstairs.  Once settled in bed, she made her way up again. >:(  I had to put her in the powder room so I could sleep.  Add to that a couple of trips to the washroom from DD and voila…time to get up.  I had no energy combined with my soreness.  A great way to start the day.

I’m off to bed now.  I want to sleep as much as I can.  Tomorrow’s a busy day with chores and I really do want to make it to the gym before it closes.

Food was a-okay today.  Another positive day.  That makes two in a row.  YAY.

I Did It!

Phew…passed the first day (again). Excellent eating and hard work at the gym. I started with 30 min of treadmill warm up. Then I tried the cardio kick boxing class for the first time. I just figured I’d have to get over my fear of looking stupid. :)

Boy was that a workout! I’m already sore. I’ve taken a shower and I plan to go to bed early. I’m so tired. The teacher was nice. I’ll have to try it next week again (I’m pretty sure it’s only a weekly class). I’ll have to remember though…no cardio kick boxing while TOM is here! ;)

BTW…I completed all my intentions from yesterday’s list.

Looking for tomorrow being another positive.

ugh…

Nothing new and exciting to report :( I haven’t done anything positive in terms of eating or exercising. What will it take? My stomach roll getting bigger and bigger? I really hate the way my stomach looks. I really, really need to get my butt in gear. Really.

I need to pull out my inspiration page and remind myself of what my goal is. I need to get up earlier and take the extra 10 minutes it takes to make my scrambled eggs (in addition to my cereal or oatmeal…as per the menu plan).

Tomorrow’s plan…
Get up at least 15 minutes earlier
Have my OJ with greens+
Have breakfast (including my eggs…protein)
Remember to take my vitamins (remember! remember! remember!)
Have 2 snacks
Have 8 glasses water
Have a proper lunch and dinner
GET TO THE GYM!

oh my…

What has gotten into me lately?  I have totally veered off course.  I’ve lost sight of all my goals.  Boy…I really know how to disappoint myself sometimes.  I really have to admit though, and not that I’m making excuses but money really does factor in.  I eat great when I’ve got cash to buy healthy groceries.  I just slip when the funds are low and I resort to just eating what we have lying around.

I don’t want to get too depressed over it so I’m going to write out a grocery list and start eating properly starting tomorrow!  No excuses.  I’ll stop at Wal-Mart in the morning to buy my 3 different types of cereal…Kashi Go-Lean Crunch, Kashi Honey Puffed Oats, and  quite possibly the bran flake type cereal with dried fruits and yogurt pieces in them (the name escapes me right now).  After work, I’ll pick up some calcium fortified orange juice for my morning Greens+ drink.   I will take my daily vitamins (that shouldn’t be too hard to do).  Hmm…what else, oh yeah…GET MY ARSE BACK IN THE GYM!
