1st Quarter - Week 8 - Day 2 August 12, 2008

Just had a so-so day today. One good note though….I called a nutritionist to see about what I’m eating. I was going to book an appointment and take my food journal with me and get her opinion on how I’m eating and what I need to change. I was also going to try to find out what I need to be eating more of and maybe some recipes and ideas and stuff. Well…the lady was really helpful! She told me that they charge $120 an hour for their services…since I didn’t have any insurance…she asked about what I was eating and doing and how things were going. I told her that I eat between 1400 - 1500 calories a day and what exercise I was doing and that I had lost 21 pounds. She said it sounded like I was doing well and had the right idea. I told her how I was worried about eating the 100 calorie packs and chips and such….I told her it was all within my calories, but I was just worried I was eating too many carbs with all that and things like baked potatos, french fries, corn…etc….she said that as long as I’m eating between 1400 and 1500 calories a day that really I should be okay. She said that of course I should eat more fruits and veggies BUT she said the only difference is that if I eat a 100 calorie snack of fruit and veggies instead of a 100 calorie pack of cookies that I will get to eat more food and be more satisfied for a longer period of time. I was worried about fat content and such but what she said made sense! She said foods really high in fat are high in calories….so even if you are eating them in moderation to keep the calories low….your also keeping the fat in moderation……she said I probably would never find a food low in calories and high in fat! She said just keep doing what I’m doing and I should be okay. She told me to check with my local hospital and see if they could offer me the services of a nutritionist and/or dietician at cheaper or even free services. So I may check that out if I don’t start losing weight soon.

Today’s food -

Breakfast - Toast, and Bacon, Egg, and Cheese omlet - 280

Lunch - Chicken sandwich with fries and 100 calorie pack of cookies- 495

Snack - 1/2 sandwich with 1/2 oz chips - 190

Supper - Spaghetti and 100 calorie pack of cookies - 455

Total calories - 1420

    I guess your doing good. I have to get back on my blog but ive had a pretty busy past week and a half. Good note, I went to Chicago for 9 hrs today, im exhausted.

    I hear you! I feel like last week I was going non stop! It is much better this week though!
