1st Quarter - Week 2 - Day 1 June 30, 2008

Yayyyyyy…HORRAY for week 2! Week 1 went by fast. I got up this morning and weighed in at 255 so I thought I gained a pound but after I used to potty (TMI I know…LOL) I was 254 again….so the 3 lb loss held. So, I signed up for the July boot camp. I updated my short term goals for July in the Long term/ short term goals section of my blog, but main things that changed was my calorie in take is going from 1800 to 1500 and I’m adding in some more exercise. Sooooooo……here’s how day one of week two went!!

45 minutes of Tae-Bo kick boxing

Breakfast: Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwich (300 of 300 calories)

Snack: 100 calorie pack cupcakes (100 of 100 calories)

Lunch: Lean cuisine french bread pizza and choc. chip granola bar (400 of 400 calories)

Snack: 1/2 turkey sandwich with 1/2 oz BBQ chips (185 of 200 calories)

Supper: Stuffed bell peppers, carrots, corn, and a 100 calorie back choc. covered rice cakes (493 of 500 calories)

Total calories: 1478 of 1500 calories

1st Quarter - Week 1 - Day 7 June 29, 2008

Last day of the first week….did I meet my goal you ask??? YUP!!! Weighed in at 254 this morning! So, down my first 3 lbs! I’m still competing in the 5lb challenge…no one has won yet…but it is so close a couple ladies only have .2 to lose, so I’m guessing it will be over with tomorrow….maybe I can lose one more and at least start my next 5 lb challenge having lost 4 lbs on the last one??? We will see! At any rate I met my first weekly goal…can’t complain there right?!?!?! Lookin’ forward to starting my second week tomorrow and probably my second 5 lb challenge!

Food today:

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 slices bacon, 2 slices of toast (280 of 300 calories)

Snack: 1/2 turkey sandwich with 1/2 oz of chips, and a choc. chip granola bar (300 of 300)

Lunch: Chicken sandwich with fries (380 of 400 calories)

Snack: 100 calorie snack pack of cupcakes, 100 calorie snack pack rice cakes, and 1 cup of milk (280 of 300)

Supper: Grilled garlic and butter tilapia fillets, 1/4 cup of sliced canned carrots, 3/4 cup corn ( 173 calories of 500 calories !!!) :) :)

Total calories : 1413 of 1800 WOOT WOOT :)

1st Quarter - Week 1 - Day 6 June 28, 2008

Woot!! Woot!! Another one bites the dust……another pound that is!! Down one more pound…only one more pound to go until I meet my first weeks goal of 3 lbs down! It’s Saturday so as long as I meet it by Monday morning I will get it especially since I didn’t even start till Wednesday. Today when I went walking I rewarded myself and walked an extra 1/2 mile….so I did a total of 2 miles. I’m gonna try to up it and start doing 2 miles a day instead of 1.5 miles. I also did around 30 min of strength training today at home just using a work out ball and two 5 lb weights. Well, I will probably end up needing it because today was splurge day….food below:

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1.5 pieces of bacon, toast, 1 cup choc milk - 298 calories of 300 calories

Snack: NONE due to splurge day at lunch - 0 of 300

Lunch: Grilled chicken nachos (grilled chicken, nachos, grilled onions, and grilled peppers) and diet coke - JUST GUESSING about 1200 calories of 400 calories

Snack: NONE due to splurge day - 0 of 300

Supper: Chicken alfredo and a side salad (1 oz egg noodles, 1/4 cup alfredo sauce, 2 oz chicken ; lettuce, carrots, red onion, cucumber, broccoli, 2 TBSP honey deijon fat free dressing) - 400 of 500 calories

Total calories - 1898 calories of 1800 (not bad for a splurge day)

 

1st Quarter - Week 1 - Day 5 June 27, 2008

Well, I didn’t post a loss today. I really thought I would, but I didn’t. I was very strict on my calories yesterday, and I walked 1.5 miles. I guess it wasn’t enough??? Usually my first week on a diet I lose BIG TIME! BUT I have to remember it is fixin’ to be TOM so maybe that’s it…I’m gonna stick with it though. So far, I have done very well for breakfast and my first snack….I slipped  a little on lunch so I will have to make that up. Maybe I will post another loss tomorrow! :)

Breakfast: Instant oatmeal, wheat toast - 170 of 300 calories

Snack: 1/2 sandwich, 1/2 oz chips, & granola bar - 300 of 300 calories

Lunch: Homemade pizza with lots of veggies, snacked off some of my neices pizza :( , snacked some while I was fixing lunch, and a 100 calorie pack - 515 of 400 calories (whoops I went over 115 but I had 130 left over from breakfast so really I’m still under for the day 15 calories :) )

Snack: Skipped and went swimming :) !!!!!

Supper: 4 oz Ribeye steak with 1/2 baked potato w/ a little cheese and sour cream, 100 calorie pack dessert - 563 of 500 calories

Total Calories for the day: 1548 of 1800

 

1st Quarter - Week 1 - Day 4 June 26, 2008

Whewwww Hooooooo!!! I posted my first loss today! It was only one pound, but I gotta start somewhere. I can’t remember if I already mentioned this but I signed up for a 5 lb challenge, so that means I only have to lose 4 more lbs! I did really well today with my food, and I don’t have class tonight…..so I’m gonna be walkin’ my booty off tonight. I’m going to shoot for an hour walk 3 miles long…..we’ll see but at minimum I have to do 1.5 miles! Tomorrow I have plans to go swimming at my sister’s house with her kids (no one else will be there to witness the horror…LOL)! Welpers….I guess all I can say is I’m lovin’ life right now. I’m still syked to be on this website with all these great people who are in the same boat with me !!! GO US!!!

Food today:

Breakfast: BLT without the T  (LOL) with 1/2 oz chips - 285 of 300 calories

Snack: 1 bean and cheese burrito with sour cream - 300 of 300 calories

Lunch: Chicken Patty sandwich with 1/2 oz chips - 360 of 400 calories

Snack: Lean Cuisine French bread pepperoni pizza - 290 of 300 calories

Supper: 4 oz pork tenderloin, 1/2 cup canned sliced carrots, 1/2 cup or so of “fried Cabbage”, 1 pack of mini chocolate swirled rice cakes, 8 oz choc milk - 388  of 500 calories

Evening snack: 4 cups popcorn - 100 calories

Total calories for the day: 1723 of 1800 calories

 

1st Quarter - Week 1 - Day 3 June 25, 2008

Okay, so I’m just not even going to put day two on here cause it was horrible. I haven’t exercised at all this week; however, today I was very successful at sticking to my calories. I also signed up for my first 5 lb challenge today, and I’m am siked! I think logging in daily to report my weight for this challege will help me hold myself more accountable! We will see how it works out. Tomorrow I will definately add some exercise to my day (along with sticking to my calories!!) I am looking forward to committing to a July exercise challenge on the 3FC forum! I feel so confident right now. I just hope I can stay that way…LOL!

Food today

Breakfast : Jimmy Dean Delights Sausage, Egg, & Cheese croissant sandwich (300 of 300 calories alotted)

Snack#1 : 1/2 turkey sandwich with 1/2 oz of chips and choc. chip granola bar (295 of 300 calories)

Lunch : Chicken patty sandwich with 1 and 1/2 oz of cajun baked fries (390 of 400 calories)

Snack #2: Same as snack number 1 except for a 100 calorie pack of cupcakes rather than the granola bar (290 of 300 calories)

Supper : 4 oz of roast beef, 1/2 cup of black eyed peas, 1/2 cup broccoli and cheese (365 of 500 calories)

Snack at school : 1 oz of chips and a diet coke (150 calories)

Total calories for the day : 1790  (10 calories under goal!!!)

1st Quarter - Week 1 - Day 1 June 23, 2008

Remember I divided my long term goal into 4 quarters that are 11.5 weeks long! 

Details for week 1 :

 I currently weigh 257 lbs. I figure to maintain this weight I’m eating around 3,084 calories a day (my weight *12). So, to lose three pounds this week I need to cut out 1,500 calories a day. First of all, I’m adding in some exercise. Walking 30 minutes per day at 3 mph (1.5 miles) will burn 277 calories for my current weight (per www.shape.com tools calories burned calculator). That only leaves  1,223 calories to burn per day. Therefore, I can eat 1861 calories per day and that burns off 1,500 calories! I will just round it to 1800 calories!

 My meal breakdown will look like this:

Breakfast : 300 calories - Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich

Snack: 300 calories - 1/2 turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/2 oz. chips and cookies!!

Lunch: 400 calories

Snack: 300 calories

Dinner: 500 calories

So far today I’m on the right track!!!

Breakfast was great! I had a Jimmy Dean Breakfast Delights sandwich. It is on a crossoint roll and has turkey sausage, egg whites, and cheese. It is very yummy, quick, and only 300 calories!

My first snack was 1/2 turkey sandwich consisting of 110 calories (35 calories per slice wheat bread from Healthy Choice, 25 calories for 3 slices of turkey, 15 calories for 1/2 slice of Kraft fat free cheese slices), 1/2 oz. of sour cream and onion chips for 75 calories, and 100 calories for a 100 calorie pack of cookies! Yum!

So far I have had one bottle of water!

Lunch : Cheeseburger and fries YUM!! 4 oz. Lean Hamburger meat (160 cal), 1 slice Kraft fat free cheese (30 cal), 1 wheat bun Healthy Life (80 cal), 1 TBSP Miracle Whip ( 35 cal), 1 TBSP Ketchup (20 cal), 1 and 1/2 oz. cajun fries (75 cal). Total Calories 400 of the 400 I was allowed!!! Starting second bottle of water!

2nd snack: 1/2 peanut butter and jelly sandwich 175 Cal total for sandwich (healthy life wheat bread one slice 35 cal, 1 TBSP skippy natural peanut butter 90 cal, 1 TBSP strawberry jelly 50 cal), 1/2 oz BBQ potato chips 75 cal, 1/2 of 100 calorie pack (50 cal) total snack = 300 calories

Dinner : Spaghetti yuuummmmm!!! (2 oz linguini noodles = 210 cal, 1/4 cup Newman’s Own Sockarooni sauce =  35 cal, 2 oz lean ground beef = 80 cal ) Total dinner calories = 325 calories of 500 total calories

After supper snack: 100 calorie pack chocolate chip cookies = 100 calories

Total calories consumed for day 1 = 1,710 of 1800

Wheww Hooo…came in under the calorie requirements for the first day and eatin’ like I’m not on a diet! LOL! Well, I’m really watching my portion sizes and impluse and emotional eating (eating when bored)!

So yeah, that’s me in the picture! Isn’t it horrible! Well, today I’m starting my journey to help make America more beautiful by ridding it of some excess fat….LOL! :) My long term goal is 120 lbs in 52 weeks. I want to lose 3 lbs a week. (I know if you do the math I will actually lose 120 lbs in 46 weeks….but I am figuring for holidays and plateaus!) I have struggled with my weight my whole life. It just gets worse, but I’m so fed up and done with it…..I am going to lose weight and be happy with myself!

So, I’ve divided my goal up into quarters. I will have 4 short term goals in other words. Each short term goal will be 11.5 weeks long, and for each short term goal I would like to lose 34.5 lbs. My first short term goal starts today:) June 23, 2008 and ends the week of September 8, 2008. During that time, I will lose my first 34.5 lbs to start my journey! I will accomplish this by burning 1,500 calories per day to lose the three pounds a week that I need to lose.
